It seems like the guys have started to tune him out... if that's truly the case, its time for a change of some kind.
- lumlums

Not defending Randy here.......... what I am defending is coach's in general.

I have a serious problem with prima donna millionaire hockey players "tuning out" their coach.

Seriously, if I was the GM I would trade every (frank)en player that had that attitude. They are getting paid millions of dollars to play a (frank)en hockey game. If you can't give it your 100% effort all the time, then get rid of them and replace them with players who are committed.

I remember some suggesting Clarkson should become captain.

I laughed.

Then again, it was before the season started.

Yeah, he forgets that back in 1981 most of these guys were a few rub-outs away from being ready for selection camp...

Bump... one of my wittiest comments of all time and not a single reply... for shame

Was gonna say Lupul, but he might be out half the year...

Right now we need a captain who brings a good work ethic every night and is a veteran..... i.e. MCCLEMENT

AND A GUY WHO THE TEAM "RESPECTS"

i dont think the players give a (frank) about Phaneuf

First you have to change the personnel a little bit, get a couple of guys who are more likely to play the coach's way... if that fails, then you consider the coaching change.

I really like JvR... I don't know whether he's captain material though... He seems more of a follower than a leader, though he is still pretty young and has yet to be given the chance to lead...

Yup.

Sign Girardi and then make him captain. That would send a big message that guys weren't getting it done.

No offense.. but McClement is probably one of the most difficult guys to replace on the roster.

he does a no fanfare job extremely well.

not his fault the rest of his linemates are usually plugs
