There is no bigger misconception about a player possibly than Miller likes to be the center of attention. He is, in fact, the total opposite.

He has been the only Sabre player worth more than a nickel the past few years and he is also the only one that tells like it is when interviewed. The rest cower and hide.

He'd prefer to do his job anonymously if possible. He refused to join social media until this year for just that reason.

As I responded to the one Troll who said he was just posing fantasy trades. "We have enough of our own fantasies here, trades or otherwise, and don't need his".

Anyone not named Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Shaw, Saad, Versteeg, Bickell, Kruger, TT, Seabs, Keith, Rozy, Oduya, Leddy, Hjamlarsson, Kostka, Brookbank, Crawford, Raanta........ for Okposo.

You must have missed my first post today. It was a sigh. Anyone who thinks Saad is going anywhere is off their rocker. I would be hard pressed to find anyone in the league I would give him up for. Well, unless your talking Crosby, Perry or the likes.
- Elbows15

The sad but true fact about Buffalo and other teams in the same boat is that no one held a gun to head of the GM's and/or owners who put their teams in the position they are. As Al mentioned about the Sabres, this did not just start yesterday with them. It is that way with most and with over time bad trades, questionable draft choices and revolving coaches you end up with a big steaming pile of me. Unless someone comes along in those organizations and has the ability to blow it up and put the right people in the problems are self perpetuating.
We should be grateful for what we have going on here with the Hawks.

They really have had no one who visible enough to step into that role. For whatever reason, Miller is a lightning rod for many fans. As Hawk fans, we have been seeing the monthly Kane for Miller trade for a few years. There are still some fans who can't let go of their preconceived notions of Kane and refuse to believe the growth in Kane's game.

Do you have faith in Regier to do a good job rebuilding or would you rather see someone else?

If they do send him (Raanta) down, I'm sure they will have a plan for the long term. Crawford also did not have the immediate success that Raanta is having though so I could see where it might do more harm than good. The way I look at it is that they rolled the dice on Raanta and he's currently beating the house. I think if you are the hawks you change your plans and stick with Raanta as the #2 when Crow comes back.
- PhilMeister89

Totally agree, Raanta had nothing left to prove in the Finnish Elite league, why send him down when he gets better every game. Raanta challenging Crawford day in and day out is a healthy situation. Out with the Khabby and Labarbera junk.

If tomorrow doesn't bring something to top the video of the Hawks ice girl's tail feather in the goal cam, I'm going to be disappointed.

Without getting inside Raanta's head and playing psychologist, one obvious "downside" to sending him to Rockford is that he's winning games now, and is clearly one of the top two goalies the Hawks have right now. Call me old fashioned, but isn't it as simple as having your best performers on the NHL roster?

A Crow/Raanta tandem similar to the "1-1A" Crow/Razor tandem of last year could keep Crow fresh for this extra-extended season coming out of the lockout-induced short break. Win-win, as Crow gets extra rest and Raanta gets a reasonable amount of work. Plus, as a Hawk he gets to practice against the best.

I disagree, somewhat.

I agree that Raanta can handle the back-up role, but having Raanta play in Rockford will give him more playing time to fine tune his game. I'd like to see Crawford have a little less of a workload, and I think it makes sense to see if LaBarbera could handle the job of playing behind Crawford.

- EKolb13

As usual you are out to lunch. Labarbera is everyone else's trash including the lowly Edmonton Oilers. Raanta unless he starts letting in a boatload of bad goals stays.
