How about putting some teeth in the suspensions?

If a player gets suspended, the team just plays a man short for the length of the suspension. No call up replacements allowed.

That would stop the insane head hunting and stupid hits from behind.

I think you have to just let it police itself.

The good thing about throwing Wilson out of the game yesterday is that is calms things down. However if you leave him in, you know how battered and bruised he would be by the end of the game.
