Absolutely was. Not you, but there was a large group of here declaring that his rookie season was an abberation and that he was nothing but a 3rd/4th line center with little offensive upside, and therefore he should be traded while he still had some value.

Hell, I remember people saying that's all he'd ever be a month ago.

Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying. Speaking of which, why didn't we trade Couturier last season? This whole board agreed that he had a bad season and was therefore a bust. We should have dumped him on someone else.

I have no problem with criticizing a player who isn't playing well. But this board is so fickle from game to game it's ridiculous. Right now, people are pleading for Hartnell to be given away for whatever return we can get. If (if) he turns it around in a few weeks and regains his 25-goal self, people will be singing his praises and calling his a key piece of the team.

I have no problem with citicizing a guy, but I'm just asking people to stick to it. Coburn also fits this: a month ago, it was "We need to get rid of him now, he's terrible" and now it's "He's our best defenseman and a good deal for his cap hit." Criticizing is one thing, angrily demanding we dump a player after a bad month is another.

Honestly who cares? This is a place to talk hockey and sometimes that includes venting over players in the heat of the moment. Emotions are like that. You should be use to relying on emotion over substance, no?

Ya but when people say we should dump coots when he's playing bad, and disappear or say nothing when he plays well, it does seem fickle and slightly annoying.

I take it that's a "liberal" jab although, as I stated, I have very few liberal views. But let's not open up that again.

If you want to vent or criticize, that's fine. I have no issue with that. But it's this constant fickleness of "TRADE HIM NOW!" to "WOW, HE'S BEEN GREAT!" back to "TRADE HIM FOR J-BO" back to "HE'S BEEN GREAT AGAIN!" that I can't stand. If a guy frustrates you that's okay. But that constant demanding of trading players and then saying how we're lucky to have him is what gets me.

There were a few idiots talking about him like he was 26, and not a 20 year old kid. I find any talk about players under the age of 25 and the word "bust" to be idiotic.

Don't forget we have a ton of younger folk on here. Flyers rock is like16 I think. Sure it can be annoying, but what's wrong with it?

Some people are of the what have you done lately mindset. I would have traded coots. Depending in the return it could have been a mistake.

I'm all for trading Hartnell, kimmo, mez, and streit. However I find in these terribley boring rebuilding years the only real excitement I get from the games anymore is from trades.

At the end of the day hockey is.entertainment, nothing more.

In most cases yeah. L Schenn and B Schenn haven't proved anything yet, they're just riding the potential wagon to the bank. We complained about buffs weight but never mention how out of shape b s henn was.

God I hate typing a cell phone.

He's a bust to me but I had hoped he had an offensive game. Only thing offensive about him is his done coverage.

That's my point. It's annoying. If you feel the need to respond to my annoying posts, I reserve the right to respond to and post satirically at/to people who annoy me.

It's weird. Last year he was progressing great, and looked like a solid if unspectacular #3 shut-down type. This year, he's definitely regressed.

Okay. How about "Step right up folks, and make your prediction for the Flyer who's poopy playing tonight and, in general, recently, will be most talked about tomorrow!"

I know. I thought he and Timonen formed a nice pairing. He seems to be in the mold of many Flyers defenseman who only play well when playing with a talented defenseman. I, also, think he does well when he's getting more minutes.

Its like the flyers. Give you hope than crushes you under reality in a 14-0 loss in game 82 to make the playoffs.

We could play a quick game of "Trade/Bag Skate/Fire".

Trade: Scott Hartnell
Bag skate: Brayden Schenn
Fire: HOLMGER

If they play poopty, we shouldn't comment on that?

Not really following your argument here.
