It's best not to confuse Leaf fans with hockey fans.

I know. I cant believe they're not posting their own trade proposals on this comment board.........yet

I could see a Gallagher, Eller for MDZ+ type of deal get done. Depends how much Montreal needs another offensive defenseman. Considering the skill level MDZ is at for a 23 year old I would make the deal and hope he continues to develop so they can steal the trade.
- Steven_Dean

Forget it never happen Gallagher and Eller are 2 top prospects that many teams would die for , if you see them 2 for MDZ you're crazy never happen , the Habs have not had anyone like Gallagher in years they wont trade him Sorry

Trade anyone on the roster, except these names: Subban, Price (not that there is any chance of that happening), Pacioretty, Gallagher, Plekanec, Desharnais (him and Patch make beautiful music), Markov, Galchenyuk, and Gorges...take your pick of the rest, but don't expect a big return hahah

Does this not make sense for the Habs?:

To Edmonton: Beaulieu, Fucale, and a 2nd

To Montreal: Yakupov

Edmonton gets their d and g prospects, Montreal gets to reunite Yak and Gally from their Sarnia days...make it happen, Bergevin....GAWD

Does he really? I hadn't heard that. Is he set to be a UFA?
- Jeffmt

Heard it too. But I wouldn't deal Patch for nash at this point let alone throw in Beaulieu.

Personally I don't think Nash/Pacioretty are involved at all anyway.

Just a guess but I can imagine something like an overall interest in someone like Boyle to add some size to the 4th line?

That's all I can see coming out of these 'rumors'...I can't see the Rangers shaking things up too much or moving top players out...they play in a rag division and have a good spot at the playoffs there

On a side note, the only way I could imaging Nash as a Hab is if Montreal parted ways with the captain or obviously a guy like Rene Bourque? But either way it would have to involve major cap space going the other way.

Completely hypothetical here but:

Rick Nash ($7.8) to Montreal: $7.8 million in cap space.

Bourque ($3.3), Travis Moen ($1.85) then some picks and prospects. Some thing like Sebastien Collberg, Dalton Thrower and a 2nd rounder?

But realistically why would Rangers do that?

I doubt Yakupov leaves without a 1st round pick coming back. Also they would need a player to fill a roster spot. I could see someone like Emilin being involved.

Issue right there, DD is useless 80% of the time! I'd keep Eller and Prust; and would trade Gorges over Emelin.

Paciorety and Desharnais make beautiful Music?

Desharnais has 11 points in 33 games? For $3.5 million that is pretty pathetic.

That's what I was thinking. At his best Nash is a 40 goal scorer and he hasn't been at his best for a long time. You've got a 30+ scorer right now in Pacioretty at a much lower price. That's an awful swap.

Have you seen that line since Gallagher was put on? I could care less if Desharnais was a Hab, but Patches sure seems to love the guy...it's like Kessel/Bozak man love right there

Since being put on the line....Gallagher has scored 1 goal in 10 games and Desharnais still has 11 points.

I gurantee you that if any team wanted Desharnais, the paperwork would be signed before the call was over

Your crazy. Do you watch Nash at all ? and when has Pacioretty ever scored 30 goals ? There isn't a scenario where I see him ever having the same talent as Nash ever.

As far as value goes that's probably close to even but I don't think Montreal is in a position right now to give up size up front and scoring.
- Jeffmt

He said Eller for MDZ ... where would Montreal lose up front scoring there !?!!?!?
