there's nothing that would make me happier than the Rangers fleecing the Habs on another trade...at least nothing i can think of at the given moment

Maybe it's something like Bourque and Murray for DZ and Pouliot. The Rangers need to get bigger at forward so it dosen't seem like MTL is a great fit to begin with.

Just entertaining the notion: This would be the dawn of a fire sale in NY with all of the pending RFA/UFA they have. They would have to wear nametags around the locker room for a while.
- Maskdman3

Noooo question it would. But I think av would welcome some finness and 2 way guys should the trade get done. I also stated that more than likely it would be one or thenother and would take more if both were to be avail.

Been there, didn't enjoy it.

Habs need to get bigger up front as well and need to get rid of DD, Gionta, Briere (but he'll play out his contract), Bouillon; Also can part with Diaz. So line up to the right please....lol

I HEard the habs are linked to toronto mayor ROb Ford in a crack deal that would see both parties gain in their respective categories.

Does Brassard for Eller make any sense?

Eller was drafted in 2006. Brassard was drafted in 2007.

Eller has played 244 NHL games (41 G, 53 A, 94 Points).

Brassard has played 355 NHL games (68 G, 126 A, 194 Points).

I don't know what Eller's status is in Montreal, but perhaps the Rangers can see him fitting better with the current club, and perhaps the Habs wouldn't mind the arguably more creative French Canadian centermen than Eller. From the Rangers perspective, Eller will come cheaper next year than Brassard, as Brassards qualifying offer alone will be close to $4 million.

- Pete V

From a Habs fan here there is no way Eller is going anywhere. He is turning into a complete two way hockey player that can score and throws a nasty clean body check. Subban for McDonagh plus is possible depending on what is going on with PK and his future contract negotiations.

Kreider for Gallagher straight up. I would do it just to gain some size and speed. Gallagher would bring heart to the Rangers.

The Habs are not going to trade Subban. That would be stupid.

I hope not too! Just sayin if contract negotiations are going to mean 8 mill a year, McDonagh is real good too plus throwing in Kreider it is something to consider. I do not think Subban and Therrien like each other much and maybe Subban wants out?? Would you trade Subban for McDonagh and Kreider?? Kreider is going to be real good and McDonagh is already the rangers best dman.

with all the deals the habs are involved in every 2 seconds they should have a team like the penguins or the hawks by now , instead they have practically the same team they always have had lol

seriously though how many more rumours can we sit through, the habs are linked to every team in the nhl every 24 hours in trade rumours for the last 4 years, and nothing big ever happens, its a complete joke, its all for hits dont but into it, the habs wont even make a trade before christmas freeze, no one wants to go to montreal because of the taxes on salary and pressure , most players are greedy and pussies.

the habs need chris farley in their dressing room for a motivational speech session, you are habssss in a van down by the riverrrrr , and if you have a pee wee sized american captain on your team you will not amount to jackkkkkkkkkk squatttttt

- thehusla

I agree the Habs could use a good motivational speaker in the dressing room such as rob ford, richard simmons or maybe mcgruff the crime dog

Hmmm it's a fair trade but it wouldn't benifit the Habs at all. The Habs no longer need any more Centres and MDZ is not playing good hockey at the moment.

It would be a nice change of scenery for Gionta and MDZ but I don't see this trade helping the teams involved.

I would guess Gionta for a 3rd rounder or something.

No, soad is a troll. Pacioretty is locked up on a great contract for the next 5 years. His name only pops up in the media becasue other teams want him, and why wouldn't they?
