It's best not to confuse Leaf fans with hockey fans. - razr
Yeah because Montreal doesn't have crazy uneducated homer fans.
But in this case your right, lol. |

I could see a Gallagher, Eller for MDZ+ type of deal get done. Depends how much Montreal needs another offensive defenseman. Considering the skill level MDZ is at for a 23 year old I would make the deal and hope he continues to develop so they can steal the trade. - Steven_Dean

Am I missing something? I would hate this deal if I were the rangers. A downgrade in both positions only to walk away with a low 2nd rounder?
Seems like a bad deal to me. - Steven_Dean
I agree. and I'm a Habs fan. The Rangers would get such a bad return, would never happen |

Unless this is another equal value minor league deal that no one will care about I'm calling BS on this one. Rangers have no idea what they want to do/need as a team. As such, Buying from the Habs would be way too expensive and it's too early in the season to be sellers.
Good job on getting the missing hits from not including the Habs on the last set of empty rumors though. Tomorrow will be Flyers and Leafs looking to make a big swap. |

As far as value goes that's probably close to even but I don't think Montreal is in a position right now to give up size up front and scoring. |

Does Brassard for Eller make any sense?
Eller was drafted in 2006. Brassard was drafted in 2007.
Eller has played 244 NHL games (41 G, 53 A, 94 Points).
Brassard has played 355 NHL games (68 G, 126 A, 194 Points).
I don't know what Eller's status is in Montreal, but perhaps the Rangers can see him fitting better with the current club, and perhaps the Habs wouldn't mind the arguably more creative French Canadian centermen than Eller. From the Rangers perspective, Eller will come cheaper next year than Brassard, as Brassards qualifying offer alone will be close to $4 million. |

There is a new hobbit movie hitting theatres this christmas called the American HAbbit staring BRIAN Gionta,
NO team will ever be good with the likes of that as a captain, habs need to unload the likes of him and a few other useless players who forgot how much money they make to play like panzies , |

I dont see the habs looks at def. MDZ wpuld be great but I think it could be trying to get boyle. Wpuld be the size were looking for. Also/or dare I say nash. I know hes expensive but his size and scoring touch could be what the habs might be ok with taking a chance on.
Nash, boyle for
Eller, DD beaulieu and a 1st?
Could move briere back to C... that said I know the rangers need some scoring , so it wouild probably take a few more pieces to get er done. For me tho, id be targeting one or both those players from the rangers. |

seriously though how many more rumours can we sit through, the habs are linked to every team in the nhl every 24 hours in trade rumours for the last 4 years, and nothing big ever happens, its a complete joke, its all for hits dont but into it, the habs wont even make a trade before christmas freeze, no one wants to go to montreal because of the taxes on salary and pressure , most players are greedy and pussies.
the habs need chris farley in their dressing room for a motivational speech session, you are habssss in a van down by the riverrrrr , and if you have a pee wee sized american captain on your team you will not amount to jackkkkkkkkkk squatttttt

I HEard the habs are linked to toronto mayor ROb Ford in a crack deal that would see both parties gain in their respective categories.

You know what, as a paper trade it's not terrible, but from the Habs' perspective, the only appeal Brassard has is his birth certificate. Eller brings a two-way physicality that Habs sorely need at centre (look no further than his weekend murdering of Tavares), and with Galchenyuk poised to take over the #1C role in the near future, I don't really see where an injury-prone finesse guy like Brassard fits into the equation. |

Just entertaining the notion: This would be the dawn of a fire sale in NY with all of the pending RFA/UFA they have. They would have to wear nametags around the locker room for a while. |
