You know, if that was the deal, I would consider it if I was Phaneuf. It might be less than he is going to get on the open market, but that Colorado team has a pretty bright future. Not like a dim future in the Toronto media hell-hole.

If we offered him that during free agency, its steep cap hit but he would give us a legit top pairing with him and johnson |

There is no deal to be made between those two teams. They are not a good fit. Mtl is looking for a top 6 PF that he will not have to give up too much for. His main target seems to be McGinn from Col.
Unless it is Kreider, I don't know what the Habs are looking at and the Rangers will demand alot for him. Maybe Kreider for Plek or Eller. |

I'd say it's pretty unlikely he leaves Toronto unless it's via trade...If a team really wants him, they are gonna have to part with some assets. |

I love patches but I dont think he can do the stuff nash does on the ice in his dreams even. Patches is on a bobby ryan level and nash is on corey perry's
As for subban and mcdonagh...fair trade but mcdonagh might be a top 5 defender in terms of shutting guys down and is our only consistent defenseman this season. Not to mention his AMAZING contract, which adds a ton of value. Subban is probably looking for 7 or 8 mil a year. - rangerdanger94
Pacioretty for Nash but reverse?? |

Well the stars traded eriksson, a top prospext (morrow), a good young player (smith), and fraser for.seguin and a salary dump of peverly.
I think nash might have even more value than seguin. I think a deal for nash would be based on some similar package, if not more. I think pacioretty, gallagher, a pick, and a prospect fits the mold. - rangerdanger94
hummmmmm No. Just no.
Nash is better than Pacioretty. But age and contract mostly fill the gap. Nash's contract is not good while Patche's is great.
You might get Pacioretty, a prospect and a 2nd round pick. But Gallagher?? don't even go on that path. |

Corey Perry>Nash its not even close, no offense. Also Bobby Ryan has more value than Nash as well, so not sure what you mean by saying Patches is on Ryan level. BTW can we stop calling him Patches - mighty13duck
Please stop and think, if you are capable of it, how many more goals and points Rick Nash would have if he had Ryan Getzlaf as his centerman,(like Perry and Ryan) and played on a Cup winning and cup contending Ducks team.
Thank you.
Despite being mired in Columbus for most of his career and twice concussed in New York lets compare the numbers:
Perry 609 games played. 241 goals and 260 assists for 501 points.
Thats .395 goals per game and .822 points per game
Ryan 413 games played. 163 goals and 158 assists for 321 points.
Thats .394 goals per game and .777 points per game.
Nash 609 games played. 316 goals and 285 assists 601 points.
Thats .429 goals per game and .817 points per game. |

Funny thing is on some rare occasions, he was the first to report a rumour to where Dregger, Mckenzie and others gave him credit once they came true. They usually quote along with it "even a broken clock is right twice a day" - l3ig_l2ecl
Like I said, I enjoy reading the blogs and articles, but most of the time his rumors seem made up and hold no value. I have heard Dreger and McKenzie quote him a few times and I am not trying to troll on Ek, but for the past three months he has said the Rangers are going to make a move and what not and all they did was make a lateral move to get Kristo |

This is a good trade for the Canadiens. They are so tired that they needed a bit of hydration... |

Brilliant!!

Just a good hockey trade.
Rangers really needed those pucks. They keep losing them after missing the net every time they shoot the puck.
Plenty of water to send the other way as they are drowning as a team this season. |

Totally. Sather also considered throwing in a Zamboni to sweetin the deal (to make up for his McD robbery) but then remembered he wasn't dealing with Gainey so he said "eff-it". Water only. |
