Listen Megasucks...the Oilers in the last 10 or 12 years have had about the same playoff success as the Canucks. One trip to the final and a bunch of 1st round exits. I feel like MacT actually did improve our bottom 6....but it makes me realize how lacklustre our top 6 can be as a unit.

Agreed. To a man they are all legit top 6 players, but they either lack the right complimentary players or the mix is just wrong.

Gagner's regressed, just looked horrible and lost out there. I wonder if Mac T might move him before his value plummets further. All I know is that a verbal NTC is bizarre.

But to me the weakest and biggest concern was the defense, wow do they struggle with basic things like moving the puck out and defensive positioning.

Once Briz is healthy there will be no more Dubnyk I hope and just to make sure of that the Oilers should call up Bachman and keep Briz/Bachman and trade Dub away,unless the plan for MacT is to get that First rounder then we will still see Dubnyk lots,but Goalie is just one of the Problems,other is Forwards,the Only Forwards the Oil should keep is Nudge,Hall,Yakupov,Perron,Gordon,Joenssu,Gazdic,Arcobello,and Possibly Gagner on Defence the Oil should keep Ference,J. Shultz,Larsen and Possibly Petry.....Oilers need to get one tough winger for the top 6 and other Grinders for botton 6 forwards with some skill but that can Hit and Fight,the D additions is going to be hard but MacT needs to use Eberle,Hemsky,Prospects,2014 Pick and possibly Gagner to get the Players the Oilers need

I don't believe anything is going to happen this season regarding big trades,there's not point in making big trades unless other teams are going to give what the Oil need right now,MacT chances are better in the off season/Draft and maybe some UFA.

They lack One Big tough winger with skills that can fight as well,I like Gagner and I think the injury is not letting himplay to his potential but having Arcobello around does make Gagner expendable if MacT can get a bigger C to play the second line and have Arcobello play Third line with Gordon 4th line C or other way.

Eakins didn't put Gazdic to face Kassian till last few minutes of the Game and of course Kassian would not fight him it was to late in my view,Eakins all alone was hoping the Oil would score and mount a comeback and I think that's why He didn't play Gazdic that much which I think it was wrong,well Young Coach learning I guess.

Gagner is obviously still hurt. In addition to not doing the things we'd have hoped he'd improve upon, he's not able to do the things that he's good at. I don't know that he figures into our future, but this is a trying time for him.

Biggest concern is absolutely defense. A solid top pairing defender would iterate through a lot of the problems on this team.
