Even if the Oilers could get Ekblad with their pick, a casual cost-benefit analysis probably tells you that if you can acquire an established #2 defenseman with that pick it's a better use of assets.

He is the stereotypical Oiler forward. Small and talented. And on top of that his pops (frank)ed us over when we signed him as a UFA. Its a match made in heaven.
