There are definitely comparisons that can be made between the two of them. The difference that I see though, is that Girgensons (at this point) doesn't seem like he would sulk if things didn't go his way. He seems like he's much stronger mentally than Paille is.

Detroit is the only team in the salary cap era to win the cup without having had multiple top 5, top 10 picks either playing on their team, or used in trades to get players on their team at the time of the cup.

The draft is pretty much the best bet to build a contender.

Buffalo looks to be headed towards 4 straight years of drafting two first round picks. Thats going to go a long ways in our rebuild. We either hit on all those players and become stacked, or we have to trade some away....

Yes but they need to spend 23 million dollars to do it. So they are gonna have to shell out money to someone. And I prefer that not to moulsen or miller for that matter. And even if they sign miller to an 8 million dollar contract, they're still gonna have to spend a lot of money to get there. Forgive me for putting a few guys I would like to see that money go to.
