Enroth last 3 games - 69 shots against
Miller last 3 games - 99 shots against - sbroads24
Is this the argument of the team plays better in front of Enroth? If so is t that really a reason Enroth is better for the team? |

Not Really. The team is looser in front of Miller because he's the starter. When the backup is in, teams tend to play tighter defense. It's also a reason why they score less when Enroth is in net |

Sleep deprived, procrastination, caffeinated thought: Would you trade our 2015 (yes the mcdavid one) 1st round pick for NHL talent (assuming they're under say 27)? I know people are obsessed with the McDavid dream but it's only a 25% chance even if we're the worst team in the NHL.
Just thinking it may speed up the rebuild without "mortgaging the future" especially if we draft a guy like Reinhart this year. I suppose it comes down to a) faith in Reinhart to be #1C and b) how many/quality of FA you can acquire this year and next (I suppose it's worth noting that Kane would be a UFA that year even though it seems unlikely but you never know).

As an outsider, no. The 2015 draft is supposed to be comparable to the 2003 draft. You absolutely want your first rounder, especially for a rebuilding team. |

I get that and to be more clear I'm talking about the kinda deal that would address multiple needs and knock my socks off. I wouldn't actively pursue trading that pick but I wouldn't make it off limits either. |

Hard to really "hate" anyone on the internet, it's not very personal especially in sports forums so unless you're easily offended everyone's basically a ok in your book.
P.S just saw the chemo bit, I know that's not a pleasant experience at all. I hope everything is/goes well. |

So if the Sabres need to get to the cap floor next year and the Rangers buyout Richards, anyone think we should try to sign him? Maybe if Ott resigns he can talk his old teammate to come hear. Say a one year deal worth $8-$10m to get to the cap floor, convince Richards if he doesn't want to resign we will trade him to a contender and would get a very good return. So basically paying $8-$10m to get at least an additional 1st and 2nd pick for next years draft. |

Absolutely. Doesnt take a rocket scientist watching the game to identify that the team "tries harder" in front of Enroth.
Since Enroth has 11GP but 10GS, I divided the shots against by minutes to get a shot per minute ratio (.61 for Miller and .47 for Enroth) then multiplied by 60 to get a full game... Miller is still 36 and Enroth is 28... kind of a more accurate average, but still shows the disparity.
I think I'm going to go through the videos of all goals against for each goalie sometime this week. Make some graphs of where the puck beat the goalie and the situations (2 on 1, screen, etc)... it will give me a conclusive result to my intuition -- Miller is constantly left out to dry and Enroth gets scored on shots that flat out beat him. |
