I think we're still a few years away
Why would Callahan sign here when he could go play in Pitt or LA or Boston...
I dont see major UFAs coming here until our youth starts to grow up and we start to push for the playoffs
I do like your optimism though - jdfitz77
Not optimism jd77, just know the direction of this team will change. Not saying Callahan comes here, but this new leadership will make a difference! Give it time |

IMO this off season will be plugging in the holes with players looking for a job on the cheap
see Raymond for the leafs and gilbert for the panthers
sign 3 or 4 of those type players and if they can get in the top ten in the east next season, then the bigger ticket free agents will come here
after saying that, the sabres will have a ton of cap room if they want to make a splash with 4 big name players, but if they are not going to get 4 then there is no reason to go after 1 IMO |

Unless San Jose decides to go for a full youth movement, there will be no "household" names making it to July 1st. - buffalofan19
Gaborik, Vanek, Camalleri, Stastny and perhaps Phaneuf will all probably go to July 1st. And then there's O'Reilly and his qualifying offer.
They may not be superstars but this has the potential to be the best overall UFA class in a while. |

if the list is cut in half, there still is enough difference makers on the list |

Forget the difference makers. I want McDavid.

Isn't that an oxymoron? jks, but I do agree although I have my doubts we actually land him. I would gladly take Barzal as a consolation prize though. |

Marleau will be available. So will Statsny.
However if Ryan O'Reilly is moved I could see Stasny resigned. He's an underrated defensive player and would be an ideal center to have behind Duchene and Mackinnon |

There's no way Vanek comes back here. The only name that interests me is Gaborik. The rest will require contracts that are too long and will become immovable when they are no longer serviceable. |

I think it's more his archaic philosophy on young players more than whether or not he's a fan or not. |

He absolutely should be. It makes no sense. The younger players are much more developed, much more polished, and much more pro-ready than they were the last time Nolan was relevant in this league. |

Hodgson is good enough to make Gaborik more than effective. |

McNabb has earned the right to stay in the lineup and play IMO. The Oilers would give up to get Psyk. |
