was just looking at a mock draft that had the sabres drafting reinhart 1st and the islanders using their own pick to take ekblad at #2. i suspect that if the isles pick is really that high that they will push our pick to next year. so the worst thing that could happen is the isles push the pick and then make the playoffs next year- essentially removing the extra ticket for the connor mcdavid sweepstakes that i want. the sabres will still have 3 pieces in play before the deadline in moulson, ott, and miller. it wouldnt surprise me if all three turned into late first rounders in the 2014 draft. nhl prospects are not like prospects in other sports, and i dont expect them all to hit obviously, but the numbers game is starting to really swing in our favor.
