Ek unless the Isles fire capuano and/or snow, none of the Isles fans care much right now. Coaching staff has lost the room and the GM hasn't done anything for our back end since the trade for Visnovsky. The team is broken and trade rumours don't get us excited. Move the coaching staff out and we'll have an early christmas present. |

Glencross - HardPuck
This is a guy who might fetch a decent return. Teams have tried to get him for a couple years but the need has never been urgent to deal him and he's a valuable player to any team. Decent contract too. |

And the award for the most vague rumors of all time goes to.....Eklund! You SUCK! |

Not trying to be a Richard, but bottom pairing? Outside of Big Z, who is ahead of him on Bostons D? - JSC
Buffy/Z/Dougie/Krug would be scary good come playoff time. |

How many guys really want to stick around Calgary for the next 2 years? |

I agree but I think his ranch is more important to him.
The entire reason he took a discount. |

Better be a poopload return coming back.
I don't really see a deal to be made there. Only good Flames assets that might be traded are Cammalleri, Stempniak, Backlund, perhaps Baertschi. - S Kaspar Rollins
Missed Hudler, could see him having huge value to MTL. Especially at that contract level. |

Possible.
I wouldn't really mind either way though, not a bad vet to have on the team while you go through the rebuild. |

Depends on how sustainable you think Hudler's current production is. I would be shocked if he maintained it.
Besides doesn't Montreal have enough small forwards already? |

The Blues are looking hard at acquiring a power forward and are one of the few teams in the NHL that is not only winning but blessed with the kind of cap space that opens up some serious options. - Eklund
WRONG!
When are the guest bloggers coming back? They knew what they were talking about.......
Good golly.

Wow Capgeek says they only have about $640K space today and about $1.7M deadline space. Good lord Ek, did he just assume "well they're a small market, they must have a lot of cap space" |

I think the Blues would be more interested in a Cammy type player. They have enough truculence... - whipper334
Sure...I'm sure they have a spare 2nd rounder to give Calgary. |

I'm pretty sure everyone that visits this site knows that Ek is total garbage, and most visit to read their specific teams blog. I find some value in Augello's blogs and think he provides some insight on Maple Leafs.
Eklund has always been the laughing stock of the NHL blogosphere. If you want real insider information, just go check out the likes of Kypreos, Dregs, Bobby, LeBrun, and so on. Eklund writes terrible content knowing he'll atleast make a couple of bucks on banner ads. I just really feel sorry for people who buy the season ticket to this site. |

Oh you don't have to tell me, I just still enjoy making fun of how dumb he is, as well as the aforementioned suckers
I mean it would be one thing to just make up rumors every day - that I might understand - but when they don't have an ounce of logic to them, or can be debunked that easily... |

Ek would be so much better if he just focused on management change rumors. These are the people on the move since they have no Cap restraints or movement clauses. Maybe when he says keep an eye on the Islanders, it is management he is hinting about? I sure wish it was true with the Rangers. Our coaching change is looking more like the Scottie Gomez acquisition every day. Can we have a do-over, or maybe another trade? |

Why would a rebuilding team trade a guy like Baertschi? - mlindsay
Not saying it would be smart, but Burke has been openly critical of him from the start of the year and he was sent down yesterday. Some have wondered if he really fits into Burke's model. Again, I am not saying this would be a smart move, just that it could happen.
Though Backlund might be a more probable bet to go; Dreger reported they were listening to offers a few weeks back. He said they wouldn't make a deal without a good age comparable player coming back though, which is smart. |
