I'll say this, it's a lot more entertaining than the All Star Game.

I just don't like stopping the NHL season and then, hoping players on my favorite team don't get injured.

On the other hand, I'm all on board when they do stuff in the off season, like they used to with World Cup or Canada Cup or whatever.

The 1996 World Cup hockey I saw at the Corestates Center is probably the best hockey I've ever witnessed live.

So no supplementary discipline for emelin from last night. That is ridiculous. Clear head shot. Maybe because downie stayed in the game?

Wouldn't be surprised if he got fined like Schenn.

I don't think there's any "maybe" about it.

Like it would change anything anyway. I might be pissed if it was back to back games, but really it doesnt prevent anything.

As the starter all season, obviously.

A starter with a .900 SV% is a big issue unless it's the 1980s.

- Feanor

The team is playing a lot more responsibly in front of their net too. For the first few weeks if that season Bryzgalov played really well but the team managed to squander it.

Maybe you should open a kickstarter account for it

They showed the GI Joe thing. I don't have a problem if it was for that, but I really don't get the impression that's why that chant was occurring. Either way, I'm not losing sleep over it. Personally, I'm saving any patriotic chants for the Olympics, I want to see US gold.
- BulliesPhan87

They were doing it early to the chagrin of Montreal fans early... But after the GI joe thing it took on a whole new momentum.

That sir is not a bad Idea. I can open a kickstarter account for season tickets for me. I'm Flyers Good Luck charm.

Season ticket holder in 2010. Was at game 4 vs Boston that year.

Also at Alex Daigles first goal for Flyers.
Giroux's first goal this year.
Flyers are 2-0 in games that I go to this season and Giroux has goals in both.
They have outscored Opponents 9-4

For the limited number of games I've been to, they do really well.

I went to a game vs the Habs a couple years ago, and sat near Habs fans. They were very rude. Stayed seated and talking a jeering during Anthem. I would never do that. They also gave my wife dirty looks. Luckly for them I dont hit women.

I have no issue with it. Too me the Olympics should be about the best in the world at thier given sport, battling to see who is surpior. I want the best representing me.

Last I checked flyers were an american team playing in front of an american crowd.. the USA chant is appropriate when playing the habs.

Jmatchett and his ilk just hate hearing USA chanted like its something to be proud of.

So what was wrong with the Canada/World Cup? You didn't have to shut down a season, so guys could actually rest, and you still had the best vs. the best.

The Flyers are an American-based team which is composed of 95% non-Americans. Not quite an "American team." The Canadiens are a Canadian-based team composed of 80% non-Americans. Much more of an "American team."

It's not like "Look at our American players being better than your Canadian players!" because that's more true of the Canadiens roster.

I look at it this way... During the anthem of either country all fans should show respect. It's really not asking much. If fans wanna show national pride and chant U-S-A or CAN-A-DA... It don't bother me at all. It's a sporting event you're supposed to ha e fun and enjoy it whether or not your team is getting their ass handed to them. Hell it was over 20 years before I attended a game the flyers actually won... Anyway if all your doing is chanting for your country, you're really not bothering anyone, after all it's not profanity. I mean some people wanna yell shoot when there isn't a snowflake's chance in hell to score and you're never gonna stop them from doing it but its how they enjoy the game I guess and everyone has a right to be happy as long as it doesn't infringe I. Someone else's rights or liberty, IMO .

Would you really want to subject yourself to this live in person & not at home when you have the option to at least change the channel.

They can and did do it in the offseason that was more palatable to me. As for the Olympics I like to give the amateurs it's their 15 minutes of fame. Imagine how 1980 would have felt if it was all pro's. I don't think u capture that awesome feeling we got when that happened with pros.

Those aren't the Olympics. Remember its the NHL's choice to shut the league down, not the Olympic Commitee. The NHL shuts down because the Stars of the league would leave for 2 weeks to represent thier countires, which they should have the right to do. And when the Stars leave, poeple wouldnt watch or go to the games.

The best in the world of Firgure skating, Swimming, etc... just about every sport get to go to the Olympics to represent thier countires. Why should it be any different because NHL players that only play in 2 countires and for 1 league has a season scheduled at the same time. You think the whole world should shut down for the NHL?

Players play for the logo not their country in the NHL.

I love how this bothered you. Typical.
