I am a huge Tolkein fan. At least LOTR and Hobbit. Could never get into any of the other works. But read each for those books a good 4 time each.

Let me ask you a question. I know they are working the white counsil and necromancer into the movies more then they did in the books. Does that happen in this movie, or are we going to see that in the next one with the battle of the 5 armies?

The action thing is a bit of a lie. Its more of an adventure than action movie, although there are a few scenes.

Its just more than anything, a wonderful story. If you are a fan of Tolkien, be prepared to have your breath taken away. The characters are really well developed, setting the movie up for the final one next tear. Smaug, for basically just being computer animation, becomes a really amazing character. I was really surprised with that.

The only knock I may have, is that Jackson uses that fancy cinematic style to make the effects even more special, but it at times leaves the movie feeling like a video game, and not as realistic. Never was a fan of that money making scam being 3D, but those are minor things.

As for Jackson, I was absolutely impressed what he accomplished with LOTR. Loved how he used camera angles and body doubles and minatures instead of CGI and green screens. It was so impressive. He left that behind in the Hobbit and I think that is mainly because there is no way not to do a CGI Smaug, and to show Araborn without it. So might as well do as much as possible in CGI. I dont know. I wasnt a huge fan of The first hobbit, but I didnt hate it either. But I dont think anyone could handle Tolkien any better.

Awe man. Now I cant wait.... Too excited. I heard from the Woman from Rotten Tomatoes that its non-stop action the entire movie, and gripping the whole way through. And Smaug scenes will take your breath away.

the commercials alone are boner inducing.

I'll give you one thing before I head out, the way the Orc characters are developed is really good.

I didn't really notice in lotr, but Jackson had them basically as mindless Rosehill's.

The Orcs in this second movie are really more developed, have personalities and it makes it that much better.

From Rosehill to say Neal.

I dont want them to play too cautious. If the right move isnt available in trade or freeagency, I wouldnt be opposed to rushing Morin.

As for Hagg, I would ask if he would be willing to come to AHL a year sooner to get him more NHL ready faster. To not develop too many bad habbits playing in SEL.

Ghost is now in his senior year right? I know he said he wanted to finish College... But I want to see this kid play darn it.

Yeah, Luke Schenn turned out great after the Leafs rushed him to the NHL. No way Morin develops bad habits and never reaches his potential if rushed

Maybe 2 years at the earliest for Morin in my eyes. Probably 3 would be better.

He turned out to be worth a first line power forward so i don't think the leafs are complaining.

Come to Florida. Never snows and we have hundreds of empty movie theaters. It is a little scary at times but its worth it! I think lol

Lotr books were amazing. Read them for years. Was super hyped for the movies. They let me down. Hobbit I didn't enjoy as a book.. so I'm having a tough time caring about the movie.

Walking dead is all I can get excited for.

The Desolation of Smaug, was absolutely amazing!

I loved the new Thor on Wednesday. And there were just 4 people in the theater, so the occasional inappropriate response from my developmentally challenged nephew did not result in a single grumpy staredown.

All I keep hearing from hockey people is that most defenseman don't really develop until they're 25. This usually takes more time for bigger bodied players. Let the kid develop in the Q.

Not giving up on him, but really discouraged at just how badly he has played this season.
