Franson was pretty bad, except fort he 5 on 3. Fraser was his usual terrible slow self.

Rielly and Gardiner were a nice surprise. Like that pairing as long As their minutes are controlled. Gita little scary when they were out against Kopitar a few times

Well its my opinion the Leafs are already too weak defensively. Playing two offensive guys who are completely incapable in their own zone will only make it worse. Ranger may not be great, but he's far better in in the defensive zone than those two. Not even close. Rielly needs to be sent down to work on his defensive game.

The team gets complacent, relying on Phaneuf when he's in the line-up. But it can't last forever. If they keep playing like they did last night, when Phaneuf is back, they will win many more games. Hopefully they have the same realization.

different players, different coaches, different owners.. same result

same excuses too.

sundin.. he was a very very very good player.. but lets face it.. he doesnt even crack the top 25 all time.

now of course people will argue it was due to the lack of support.. but lets step away from excuses for a second and look at the hard facts.

sundin got his notoriety from playing in toronto. if he had spent his career in .. lets say.. san jose.. do you really think he is in the hall this quick?

no.. probably not.

phaneuf is EXACTLY like sundin.. an above average player who is being grossly over-rated due to the market he is in.
