Forwards we're helping out the d. - Yeti1181
This was the difference really, a lot of people don't realize that but the defense gets next to no help from our forwards. |

Karlsson 3 is a joke.. he is a defensive liability.... and Markov is no longer on that list either......... - jribout
Yea, Phaneuf easily slots in at #10 on that list |

finally started playing their game again
More physical, and skated their butts off.
Hopefully we didn't just look good because LA was tired. - Feeling Glucky?
And lets hope we dont become LA against STL |

Exactly they are to eager to blow the zone. |

So, Leafs without their captain....how'd it go!? |

I wouldn't mind being LA with the 2 points.
But we did win Corsi. So we've got that going for us. |

Toronto owed the hockey gods anyway. They've been winning games while being the 2nd best team far too often this year. - daeth
yeah agreed |

Funny you say that. Wife is looking for me to buy her one. Are they any good. Or, are they as good as the guy says they are? - bixll
Brother has one...Expensive but he claims it's well worth the coin.. |

Same as it went whenever Sundin was out.
Team stepped up. |

Markov is easily still a top-20 dman in the NHL. he's been phenomenal this year. |

Havent watched MTL enough to argue, but #12? I'd rather Phaneuf |

Long term I'd rather Dion.
This year Markov

You'd take Nick Schultz over Dion. |

Could we pry RoR out of Colorado for Dion? (in February or whenever it is possible)
I have to figure Dion has some significant value, but the Leafs CAN play a solid game without him. Considering the number of young Dmen in the system, the huge dollars that Dion is going to command may be better spent elsewhere.

thing is, the money SHOULD be spent on the backend...though I agree not necessarily on Dion. |

I'd probably do that deal. But then we would definitely have to lose Gardiner in a trade for a shutdown guy, or pick one up in FA which I don't see happening. |

iiinteresting....how was the game, I missed it?...was playing back to back hockey - Colin Dambrauskas
Best game the team played as a whole all year, one bad mistake by Ranger but I still think Bernier could have stopped that.
They got out goalied but deserved the win.
Phaneuf who?
edit: Rielly and Gardiner were the best d out there for both teams along with Doughty |

as for all your discussions about phaneuf.. the fact remains..
he is not a top 10 defender who is looking to get paid like a top 5
