I got to 8 solid candidates
Then the rest became debatable. |

You must be wrong then. He is a number 2 at best so there must be 30 at least. Keep trying. |

Karlsson can move the puck out of his zone with ease - robin_steele264
Seems to me Ottawa gets scored on a lot when he's on the ice, for a guy that clears the zone with ease so well. |

He's got his faults. Lots to learn. But the skating and puck handling skill is absolute world class.
When he doesn't have the puck... Needs work sure.

His play has improved greatly.
Even his last year with calgary I couldnt get over how he was just all over the ice.
Guy's skating and mobility is as good as it gets - robin_steele264
How many years was JBo looked at as a bust? Most of his career now two good years he's an elte d all of the sudden? Phaneuf has had more elite years but isn't any good. I don't mind the discussion on what we think of who vs who but can we try and be consistent on our rating systems otherwise this is all just bullpoop arguements that prove nothing. |

Skating and puck handling are indeed world class but if he not using them to help the defense as a dman then they begin to become redundant. |

For years JBo was poop on for not living up to his potential. |

No.
He was the lone bright spot on a horrible panther team.
Some said he was a bust in Calgary but they obviously liked him more than Dion and like I said... Couldn't get over his play in the last year he was with them.

Depends on the team.
For example, on the Kings, he's a #3.
On the Ducks, he's a #1. |

There certainly were lots of bullpoop arguments.
I thought mostly coming from the president of his fan club.

He was a bust in Calgary for what he was making(2goals in 54 games) as an offensive threat. I remember him being Florida but I just might be thinking the team in general. |

Flames have a tendency to overpay Dmem.

Disagree he was making valid arguements compared to the guys that hate on him saying he's a 3 at best or number two. People could barely agree on 10 to 15 better guys let alone 30. |

JBo has been consistently playing huge minutes, offensive production or not.
No one ever considered him a bust, just not what he was in Florida, where the Defense was JBo and filler.
It's a strange turn of events that he has all of a sudden become Elite.
Makes the Olympic Roster possibilities more interesting, though. |
