Weber and Suter make $14m a yeAr.

You can not compare pre lockout cap hits to post lockout cap hits.

- Big_Lightnin

Thats a great point. I didn't think of that.

His first season as a plus player for the leafs. Quick everybody break the bank on this guy he is our saviour. The guy has been mediocre as a leaf. He is having a good start this season yes. He needs more than 31 games to prove he is a 7 mil guy.

And he's playing good because it's a contract year, he did the same in Calgary.
- whipper334

49,50,60,47 point seasons in Calgary.

20,17,17,11 goal seasons.

He had 10 goals in 55 games before being traded to Toronto.

How many contract years did he have in Calgary?

So, of the four people who disagree with the Weber/Phaneuf comparison, does anyone have anything constructive to add?

Nobody wants to touch the numbers, eh? Don't worry, they won't bite.

Well if Dion believes he's better than Weber like some Leaf fans think than he should be demanding max...

Little bit more than just numbers..

Weber can play Defense.

Talking phaneuf with you is impossible. There is not one poster on this entire site who has more of a phaneuf crush than you.

I'll admit Dion is often underatted by some 'haters' who say he's a plug and whatnot....

but then you get guys like this who give you the impression they are president of his fanclub

Weber will be a dominant force for Team Canada at the Olympics.

Phaneuf's name hasn't even been joked about. Non discussion bud.

I didn't realize skill was based on Hockeybuzz polls.

In any case, they did a poll last year for Norris voting. Weber finished 8th. Phaneuf finished 11th,a three place difference.

Wow, what a clear cut difference! How dare anybody compare the two!

I've always liked Phaneuf. I just like him more at 5/6M rather than 7/8M.

Nice. Let's use the mini season PK freaking subban won the Norris as a measuring stick.

Just for fun... Check webers stats with Suter, then without.

Notice anything?
