He's playing well, but not a phenom

It was hyperbole. You're right. At this point, he's just a kid standing on his head.

Well, it's not like the Kings played a tough team or had to actually play hard to win 6-0 last night.
- systemtool

They probably figured if Ottawa can get 50 shots against Toronto they should be fine with a 25% effort. So far it's not completely failing for them considering it's 1-1.

#51 has been very good for the leafs last little while. *waits for honesthockey to tell me I'm wrong*

Gotta let the kid play the style he's meant to play.

Randy's got to find a system that matches their abilities, while making them work hard to improve. I've seen Gardiner looking a lot more comfortable lately.

I don't want bad habits to set in, and I want to see them work on the defensive side of the puck, but they've got the skill to be a quick, "rush team" (as TSN just starts talking about this).

Yeah me too, he's been getting points now too, they're starting to come, I'm impressed. Kessel needs to pot one, how many chances that period did he have!

As Borje said on these boards yesterday, Phaneuf's absence might be like when Sundin was out: everyone wakes up and realizes, "Oh, poop, I guess I actually have to show up and pull my weight today."

Then, again, we are playing a team on the second game of a back-to-back. That will be us tomorrow...

- Leeman4Gilmour

Yes they won't have to depend on phaneuf to not clear the puck, not hit the net, and get skated around like he is standing still

Gone. Or even been. Not went. I can forgive your slump Cody, but for the love of God if you butcher English, I will find you and hurt you!

Or having the team leading +/- playing the hardest assignments.

You need to polish your troll skills, son.

Notice you don't say anything about his five good plays earlier
- Yeti1181

Look, I have watched Ranger play in Tampa and I loved him. Then he decided to take time off. When he signed last year with the Marlies i was thrilled. Last year he was plus 16 with 8 goals and 17 assists. That pretty good after taking years off. I am actually comfortable with Ranger on the ice. I feel he has got better. He is even with 1 goal and 6 assists. I think he is getting more physical and playing better defense. But trust me he has a lot more offence that will come. Just like Kadri, it takes time to adjust to a higher level, right?

Phaneufs been a minus his entire career as a leaf.

He's had a damn good season..

But hard to take the +\- argument seriously now when the argument then was that it was irrelevant.

He's been getting beaten wide with speed repeatedly all season, and is prone to the bonehead giveaway. Not sure if those two things will just go away.
