Clarkson, like every other player on the team, is going to make mistakes. The pile on, and the need to point out ever error isn't necessary. Kadri (frank)s up twice as much every game, yet not a peep. Let's not golden boy some guys and poop pile others. - systemtool
Kadri wasn't this mgmnt teams doing. Clarkson was the big signing this summer. Just because Kadri isn't scoring every game doesn't excuse Clarksons contract. |

I don't know. Same coach, what changed? He seemed brilliant last year...so I know he can have a positive impact on this team...it can't be all him, can it? - systemtool
He wasn't brilliant back then either, the team played above themselves, a lot of things seemed to click for them during the short season |

Phaneuf isn't that great, kessel is weak besides his wrist shot, Gunnar is hot and cold. Jvr was and still is a great steal
I remember people on here hating the Schenn trade....I laughed at them then and still do - Fakepartofme
Phaneuf has been an absolute beast this year.
He's one of the few reasons our PK isn't dead last. |

Supply and demand. It's why Dion's going to a 7x7 type deal because there's nothing better out there. - gravyface
Was there a "demand" for Clarkson??...Leafs where tougher last year without him... |

Clarkson has not brought the grit and edge I was hoping for. He's a decent possession guy and doesn't quit on the puck, but he is not striking fear into the opposition and I can recall him getting pancaked at least a dozen times and can't recall a single moment-changing hit he's delivered.
Maybe that's not what he was advertised as, but I could've sworn he was more physical in NJ. - gravyface
Im wondering if it's a case of knowing his role. It could be he knew what was expected of him in NJ and isn't as sure of what to do here. In NJ, he logged bigger minutes, in a bigger role, and on the PP. Here his role is reduced, the team doesn't play tough or fight at all anymore etc.
I really think that 10 game suspension threw him off track. He better get his ass back on. |

Im really not worried about that contract. It is what is and the cap is going up. We needed that kind of player and they went out and got him. Just about all UFA contracts suck. Clarkson, if he gets his game together and on track, is just what this team needs. Hopefully he gets it going, and soon.... - systemtool

Starting to get annoyed with these perimeter shots from Kessel. That almost always miss wide.

There definitely was. Whether justified, or not, there was. In fact, Clarkson took less to play here...as shocking as that might sound. |

Kessel hasn't been a 30+ goal scorer by going hard to the net. You're going to have to accept that he's a point a game player playing the way he plays lol. |

I disagree.
The team seemed completely different last year. Tougher, solid on the PK and PP, decent in their own end and a force in the offensive end. They weren't perfect, but compared to the teams we've seen the last decade, Carlyle seemed like a genius last year. |

I was saying it then, too. We have guys in the system who can replace him, but they're not ready now, and now is when we need one. |

People were losing their minds when komarov allegedly wanted 2 mil.
Clarkson hasn't done much more than komarov was doing, and people are lining up to make excuses for him. |
