here's the thing - it's better for Strome to come in fresh, confident from his AHL play and pumped for his first game than it is to have him watch this team play another terrible game, meet with crappy and then play at home.

honestly, I think crappy is trying to get fired. No secondary scoring at all, so let's scratch the kid who's leading the ahl in points as a rookie, who may be able to provide a spark for the guys who aren't scoring and in his place let's dress Boulton, who will play 4 minutes tonight and require the Isles to double shift either grabner or bailey on the fourth line again.

This makes absolutely zero sense. The team plays no noticeable system, is frequently outplayed and can't score more than 2 goals in a game right now. What could you possibly lose playing him right away?

I think cappy's also forgotten they've had strome sit and practice with the team previously before sending him back to juniors. There's no point not having him dressed. Absolutely no reason to scratch him.

This is a microcosm of all that is wrong with the management of this team. What kind of management team flies a player 2500 miles across a continent to sit in a press box, only to get back on a plane 12 hours later and fly back basically where he came from geographically? Maybe Snow had the impression that Fred Flintstone would dress Strome? Maybe those two need to get on the same page before flying Strome to Phoenix?
