I actually think that is more than enough probably too much. I love Kane's potential, but he is a bit of a problem child and supposedly may want a trade. I don't think it would take substantially more than Stepan. - Pete V
The Rangers can't afford to try and acquire a player like Kane.
It would cost too much in personnel and they are thin enough as it is. |

It would be Hall or RNH but it's still not happening, Rangers can't afford trading a franchise defenseman at his age and cap hit too
How about Eberle for Girardi? |

Potentially very good player but I wouldn't even think of doing that trade if I were you guys. |

If he was Edmonton and he were still a Rangers fan he probably would. |

You...wouldn't trade Girardi...for Eberle?
EDIT: Nm. RNH and Hall wont be traded. Unless its a ridiculous offer. |

Rangers are not deep enough, they don't have the cap space, etc. what would you suggest they do? |

Sit tight, perhaps make a move that wouldn't cost high picks or the few good young players this team has.
Nothing that will further deteriorate what is an already anemically skilled lineup or cost them any future.
A big trade isn't saving this season anyway. |

I agree with you, nothing will save this season. However, I would like to see them start to bring in the type player that I feel has a chance to begin to turn this mess around for the future. I don't see it now. |

i think the rangers will go hard after ott in free agency. i think stepan could be expendable for a guy like evander kane (i would trade stepan in a heartbeat for kane) because stastny and thornton could be available via free agency. it's a gamble because who knows if they end up re-signing...maybe you keep richards if they re-sign and you buyout richards if they don't and sign one of them?
i know brassard doesn't have a lot of fans here, but i feel comfortable with a stastny/thornton - brassard - ott - miller center lineup. |

unlucky and frustrating
luckily it doesn't sound THAT serious this time but you never know with injuries that literally damage your brain. |

I don't think a Kane for Stepan deal is that far fetched. Kane is a year younger, but has played forty or so more games in the league. There numbers are comparable and the Jets badly need a center. Not to mention, Kane hasn't been the easiest player to deal with there. It would be a solid, dependable center with good all around skills in all aspects if the game, for a less well rounded, but more explosive player with a higher ceiling.
The proposed deal of Stepan, MDZ and Miller for Kane, IMO, is over valueing Kane. |

If there is a deal to be made, that won't rip apart whatever good pieces they have left, then by all means.
But I don't want to see this team go all out this season. There's nobody, that won't cost this team a ton, that can be had during the year.
Just leave it alone and hope they collapse. Oops, did I say that out loud? |

I think they were making WPG take MDZ. |
