He's probably asleep with another unlit cigar in his decrepit old mouth, some one push him off!

Even a 9-game home losing streak can't ruin Sather's Christmas!

Maybe it's the cocktails I had to suppress the memories from last night's game, but I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet.

On this season:
It's disappointing. It's frustrating. They need a consistent effort. They still look confused at times. Honestly I think the difference between what we see now and a downright scary Rangers team is, wait for it, brass balls.

You need brass balls to sell real estate and you sure as hell need it to play Eastern Conference hockey. Ryder doesn't school J. Moore if Moore's first reaction would have been to level him at the blueline. Play clean but make your opponent pay for every inch of offensive space.

The Rangers were scary when we were sending out Prust, Rupp, and Bickel to match NJ and slug it out. Cally and Staal are hurt again. Prust is gone. Let Asham play. Bring up Bickel and McIlrath (with appropriate expectations) and let's change the culture in the room.

Guys start finishing checks, working harder on the puck, and getting to the net. Tough teams start respecting you and softer teams start fearing you.

Worst case scenario one of these guys teaches Brian Boyle how to fight like someone of his size.

the more i watch this team the more i realize like we all have torts system for this team is what kept them competitive. I dont think AV is a bad coach, and was in favor of letting torts go to hire AV, but i have to give torts credit for what he did here. I liked torts when he was here but hes a coach with an expiration date. I think the smart move for the organization moving foward is letting cally go or trading him at the deadline. He gets injured every season and with big injuries causing him to miss substantial time. I love the guy but we cant afford to lock him up for the 5/6 years at the money he is going to want (5-6 per) to add 40-50 points and miss 15-25 games a season.
It has been said before, this team with all the UFA's at the end of the season and possible buyout of richards has the potential to be totally different next season. Hopefully Sather realizes that and is a seller at the deadline and not looking to add someone to get us into the 2nd round (if were lucky) for some picks and or prospects.
This organization is extremely low as it is in terms of prospect depth (for the next year or 2) and cannot afford to trade a guy like JT Miller IMO.
The only UFA's i would bring back are Stralman, possibly Girardi
The only RFA's i would bring back are Zuc, Krieder, DZ (yes DZ) and J Moore unless DZ or Moore they can be traded for picks/prospects.

Something tells me Dubi will be lighting us up tomorrow night, I say at least a goal, couple of big hits and a fight in his first game back at MSG.

I love Nash and would still do the trade but if there was a way to sub someone else in for Dubi at the time of the trade I would have been happier. He's the kinda guy they could use now. Plays with heart, hustles, hits, drops the gloves when needed, can put the puck in the net (at times anyway). Prust and him were never properly replaced.

I'm a bit shocked at all of the Dubinksy love here...has everyone forgotten the year of no look backhand shots flat on the ice with no power? The year everyone celebrated his empty net goal hoping it would get him out of a slump? I love the guy but I no longer see him as anything more than a character player at best.

I think right now we see a team with absolutely no energy, completely lifeless

and we all know, no matter how anyone felt about Dubi, he is going to come into MSG and play like a maniac tomorrow

plus, he had 4 points vs the Devils last night and I don't think we have scored 4 goals all year against them

If Dolan tells Slats to do whatever he can to make the playoffs, who do you think is his first target?

I agree. He's reportedly available, the Rangers need defense, and he would help the Rangers offensively as well. But, at what price, as Sather is not going to get fleeced.

Is that going to cost a 3rd round pick and maybe Miller?

Been lobbying for Byflugien for awhile. That would be an awesome get, helps the D, huge shot. Throws big hits and can help clear the crease in front of Hank a little better.
