I think Ek reads the Leafs blog for inspiration...which is total foolishness since we are all (frank)ing crazy |

Dion as a depth signing in LA would be incredible - taking the pressure off of him to be the number one would let him be the great player that he can be. I don't know if LA can put a package together for him though; I doubt they would give up Muzzin... |

Trade him somewhere so that will give him an opportunity to win a cup. |

Dion is a good defenseman ,that will get paid either way.Toronto will not get back what they need to if they trade him so..7 years at 7 per . |

In a perfect world, the wings would trade a prospect or a couple picks to get him
then he signs an extension here for 5 years 30-33 mil
I assume he signs with Toronto for alot more than that, hes good, but not Elite, anything more than 6.5 a year is an elite D man.

The leafs should try to sign him, but if i am the only big name d-man entering the 2014 fa class, then i would see what my value is worth on the open market. |

5 years at 7 per and we have a deal I say keep him - he's been a beast this year. |

Depends who they get on the blue line to replace him.
Without him the D is in complete shambles... even more than now - MasWE
I am tempted to agree.
I wonder though if what this D really needs is time, and a more coherent team defensive strategy.
The Leafs have a number of good, young D prospects. They may not be as far away as we think.
Hire a couple decent defensive, veteran D, nothing flashy, short term... we might be better off long term. |

well after the last trade between these two clubs don't know if Philli would want to deal with Toronto for a while. |

True and finishing last place doesn't necessarily equal results.

5 years at 7 per and we have a deal I say keep him - he's been a beast this year. - BlowMonkey That would be a steal on term for the leafs, maybe they should look at a higher salary shorter term type of contract.Say 5 years at 8 mill.

I would trade Gorges for him.
That would give Mtl the most impressive D in the league.
