what is this poop
give up 3 consecutive goals
then score the game tying goal and get complacent again and let the other team score late again

As long we the Devils are somewhat in the playoff race, Marty isn't going anywhere. The demand for goaltenders right now is low, there are much better options available other than Marty (Miller), and ultimately, I don't think Lou has the balls to trade the greatest success story of his career. If he wants to come back this offseason though, I'm sure that's a different story but as far as a trade goes, I can't see it happening. The Devils are at the cap ceiling and don't have many tradable assets that'll get this team a return to directly address their needs. If anything, Lou will probably make an acquisition similar to D'Agostini or Sullivan. One of those annoying trades for a depth player that Lou hopes will be a diamond in the rough find, only to be a subpar rental. - amerk626
We're only as close to the cap as we are because we are currently carrying 28 guys on our roster and against our cap. At any point Clowe could have been put on LTIR and we could have had $4.9m more in cap space, but it wasn't necessary |

The life of a "retiree"
Lou wouldn't allow something like that of him to come out in a Devil's uniform because God forbid he lets his players do anything marketable or appealing to his fan base. - amerk626
Probably why the fan base is so small. You could be like then when your a dynasty but when you miss the play offs 2 of the last 3 years it makes it a lot harder especially when many of your players are old. |

Generally wasn't a good night for the D. Got caught a few times, couldn't clear the net, and offensively only 1 D point on the 4 goals. |

Offense wasn't the problem(though Merrill looks a bit timid with the puck sometimes). The problem was getting back on D and keeping your position. I think Greene(big surprise) was the only one who was consistently on his man and where he was supposed to be |

Well he doesn't play defense or goalie so its not really his fault. |

I just don't like the trade's impact on the chemistry of that team. Moulson was with the organization through the whole rebuild and they dumped him just as they were turning a corner.
That said, they still have problems other than chemistry, so I get your point. |

It just didn't make sense to give up a first and second and for a slight upgrade. |

Idk thought even Greene looked off last night. Just was not a good game from the D and Marty. Obviously Marty was bad last night but the D wasn't much help too him. When one line dominates us like it did last night you really don't deserve to win. |

Harrold too!
Defense looked like dogsh!t, slow and out of position all night.
I'll give Merrill and Gelinas the benefit of the doubt because they're rooks and still learning. No excuse for the other buffoons on D though! |

It was refreshing to lose with bad d and goaltending instead of the usual lack of goals. |

I like this perspective. It was nice for the boys to mix it up for us last night. |
