That sucks. But it is hard to be nice all the time. Maybe he just had a really bad day. But I can't stand when u snap ur fingers to a waiter. That is always a bad sign
- tomcat24

This wasn't a bad day type of thing......this was someone who wanted to belittle a person for no reason and almost seemed to enjoy it.....the poor girl was working her ass off and was almost in tears.

I never agreed to 3 points on top of the vig! Am I something special? Some sort of schmuck on wheels?

Ditka's number should have been retired a long time ago... I don't see how any fan can find fault with this.

A lot of skill but a bit of a prima donna....Q. let him go for a minute or two....Then he skated over and leaned over and whispered something to him and presto everything was okay.

Hossa vs Havlat is a no brainer. So glad that switch was made,
- Ogilthorpe2

The question was Havlat for 5 years for $25 mill or Hossa for the motherload...

2 Cups say Hossa.

Thought of him to Al.

Think something like that will only happen if Crow and Khabby are both out for extensive time.

Raanta will get a lot of time here soon and buckle his koho seatbelt for a couple weeks if they are shorter term injuries. Much like how the Hawks were using Crow. I can't see Simpson getting too much action.

Agree...3 sets of back to backs coming this month yet...not the best time but...

Yeah definitely the right move. But, havlat did play a huge role the year before. I always wonder if they win the Cup if they didn't have that great run the year before? Gave them a lot of confidence. That Ladd-Bolland-havlt line was huge

There were reasons why Marty Lapointe almost planted Havlat inside the locker room one day.

Anyone heard anything on the severity of Crawford's injury and how long he might be out?

Do we know if it's a knee or a groin?

Excellent. There's clearly a snowball effect. Kruger's comment: “Now, we’re maybe a little on our heels and don’t want to get scored on. It felt the other way last year" seems spot-on. And losing so many key FOs on the PK (even Toews) is huge.

Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but a bad PK is much worse than a bad PP because if you don't score on the PP the status quo is maintained, you don't lose anything except possibly momentum. But each failure on the PK is (of course) a goal.

Yes from what I heard from someone who would know....But it stopped short of an ass kicking. Lapointe could have broken Havlat in half.

I believe so....

Last team to win the Cup with a standout PP was Detroit...

From the Hawk? Best we get is a lower body injury. There has been no word today at all.

The Hawks had a decent pp during the 2010 run - big timely pp goals - came up huge during the 2010 cup run. In the playoffs against Phoenix, in the pivotal game 6. the hawks give up a pp goal to phoenix in the 2nd period to go down 1-0. A few mins later, Hawks have a chance, but the pp failed miserably. And that was all she wrote. Different game if the Hawks capitalize.

If they acquire a $500k goalie Bowman could work some magic and one will disappear.....

Anyway the Hawks were 3 deep in goalies counting Raanta....You can't have a foot on every base and the Versteeg deal shouldn't have been passed waiting for the sky to cave in.

A question, why was Versteeg brought in? Offense? The Hawks offense was already doing fine. The Hawks needed a backup goalie and help on the 3rd and 4th line and pk. Versteeg's deal was not bad. But in Versteeg, you know what you are getting (some offense with some questionable decision making) with limited upside and a slight gamble that he did not lose it step with the knee injury.

Versteeg was brought in as depth. The Hawks had tried Pirri, Morin etc. and it was obvious a more veteran type was needed. Depth is why the Hawks won two cups in the last 4 years.

Hey US!

I was thinking more along the lines of he lived in your neighborhood and you took your son trick or treating to his house and he gave you pennies and candy corn.
