Enjoyed the sb win, but buddy Ryan probably had more to do wit dat than ditka. Plus he pimped over Payton in sb and cared more about perry....classless, imo - dpard
Yep, familiar refrains and respect the view. I'm not a huge Ditka guy, but I appreciate what he is and who he is.

Troy Murray and Jack o'callahan. ..2 of the best - dpard
Never met O.C. Personally. Always heard he was a great guy. Still shocked about the movie miracle. He never seemed such a bad-ass on the Hawks |

Saints set a record a month ago vs Cowboys with 40 first downs in a game. The bears only have 30 today....

YOu make a good point. I am not sure about this article be a little ass kissy to the Hawks management. We also go out and get Versteeg? Did we really need him? Dont' get me wrong, i like Versteeg. Everyone thinks it was a great deal for the Hawks, but with Khabby not getting the job done. A back up goalie might have been a little higher priority. it was another gamble with picking up Versteeg and another gamble with Raanta as the back up. I hope the kid can stay strong.
If you think about it, Tallon also got a decent deal, he got two rookies with some potential and didn't have to pay any extra money. - Topshelf2010
To put it a different way Tallon got all he could get and had to eat half the salary for a player he resigned originally.
If the goalies stay on LTIR they can acquire a replacement without cap consequences I believe.
The Versteeg deal was one Bowman couldn't pass as neither of the two youngsters were going to play in Chicago.
Tallon got the only deal he could find and odds are he won't be around long enough to watch either player succeed in Florida, if they do.

That's true, but the problem comes in when the goalies come off LTIR and all their salaries count against the cap. Raanta can go down, but the new goalie's salary would still count after Crow and Bulin are back. Three goalie salaries they can't handle easily.

The only bad experience I had with a Hawk was Havlat...... - UnnamedSource
Let me guess....You took your son to watch a practice at the Edge and Havlat threw a hissy fit and flung his stick against the glass and scared the hell out of your son???
If not I saw him do similar...

If they acquire a $500k goalie Bowman could work some magic and one will disappear.....
Anyway the Hawks were 3 deep in goalies counting Raanta....You can't have a foot on every base and the Versteeg deal shouldn't have been passed waiting for the sky to cave in.

Agreed, a real cheap guy is no problem. An expensive, starter type would be more difficult. But I don't think Crow will be out long; maybe they'll get a cheap back-up for him and send Raanta down. |

Like I said today a Joey MacDonald type that could start 3-5 games if Raanta needs a break or goes sour.

A lot of skill but a bit of a prima donna....Q. let him go for a minute or two....Then he skated over and leaned over and whispered something to him and presto everything was okay.

Thought of him to Al.
Think something like that will only happen if Crow and Khabby are both out for extensive time.
Raanta will get a lot of time here soon and buckle his koho seatbelt for a couple weeks if they are shorter term injuries. Much like how the Hawks were using Crow. I can't see Simpson getting too much action. |
