You ever see Raging Bull.....Frank Vincent (Batts) and Pesci have a knockdown dragout brawl in that movie that looked pretty real....and it was when they were both way younger. There all buddies though since they worked together again.

Stan could have signed someone other than a 40 year old with a history of injuries to be the backup goalie, and that would have kept Raanta in an emergency role and kept Simpson in Rockford. That would have been really smart.

Right now the Hawks have to AHL goalies. And the Hawks are kind of capped out to do anything to remedy that.

YOu make a good point. I am not sure about this article be a little ass kissy to the Hawks management. We also go out and get Versteeg? Did we really need him? Dont' get me wrong, i like Versteeg. Everyone thinks it was a great deal for the Hawks, but with Khabby not getting the job done. A back up goalie might have been a little higher priority. it was another gamble with picking up Versteeg and another gamble with Raanta as the back up. I hope the kid can stay strong.

If you think about it, Tallon also got a decent deal, he got two rookies with some potential and didn't have to pay any extra money.

It will be interesting, the Hawks defense has not been as sharp as last year. sometimes too nonchalant with the puck. I tell you one thing, the games will be a lot more interesting with Raanta in net - seems to be way more athletic and quicker int net and moving around alot. Also a lot smaller than Crawford.

It will be interesting, the Hawks defense has not been as sharp as last year. sometimes too nonchalant with the puck. The way the Hawks have been producing on offense this year, Raanta doesn't have to win games by himself, just not lose them. It kinda reminds me of the game manager backup QB in football. If he can hold a GAA at 3 or lower, they will have a good shot most nights. Nothing I've seen so far leads me to believe he can't do that most nights.

If Raanta keeps it simple, he should be fine. Stay close to home. Get the angles right and he should be fine.

The best line in that scene was Anthony Stabile at the table. Hendry says hes dead...Tommy says, what can I say, I am a good shot. Then in the back ground you hear, "Yeah, but how could you miss at this distance?"
