Hello Tug. I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday; it is good to win, but I still think they can lose to ANY team because of their defense. It especially sucks to see them give it up like that against the run.

At this point, stop deferring. Get the ball first and score. The only chance they have to stop the running game is make the other team throw.

Hossa vs Havlat is a no brainer. So glad that switch was made,
- Ogilthorpe2

yep, at first i thought it was not good. Because minutes after the signing, HOssa is out until like December. WTF? But Havlat also was coming off of that concussion in the detroit series. Havlat was a monster during the second half of the 2008-9 season when he started trusting that his surgery was heeled and successful. YOu have to give him credit after getting kronwalled, he went back on the ice - was a little off - then got lit up again (another border line hit to the head). Then that was it. HOssa, i didn't know much about him - heard he was good and was strong on the puck and that he can score. Found out now, he is all around great player, but lacking some creativity on offense. Liked Havlat, but way too injury prone. REally liked the Ladd, Bolland, Havlat checking line - that 2008-09 team was fun to watch. too bad Babcock outcoached Q that year. So glad we have Hossa now, even though it is percieved that Hossa disappears at times.

LOL. I liked Havlat too, and am sorry about the way he left Chicago. But I agree with this statement. You can't compare him to Marian Hossa. You just can't.

He relies on a quick surprise shot much more than moves and dangles, goalie doesn't know the shot is coming. He seems less creative than some others.

It's why he has trouble on break-aways and in the shoot outs: goalie knows he's going to shoot it at some point so the element of surprise can be lost.

I understand Hossa has probably lost a little bit of speed and jump over the years but I would like to see him to some of this in the video more. Just seems like he shoots much different now with his hands so far up on the stick. Great for control, not for your shot.

Don't get me wrong. One of my top 5 favorite players no doubt. Amazing watching him control the puck and I got a man crush for his back check.

What I am curious to see is if Havlat's career continues and he tries for a Cup at a low salary, or if he hangs it up after this year. Havlat can still be in the NHL as a competent fourth liner (if healthy).

It's hilarious to me that the Heatley-Havlat trade only produced losers between SJ and Minny.

@MarkLazerus: #Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman says he has not reached out to any teams or free-agent goalies. Yet. Says Raanta and Simpson deserve a shot.

That's what he's telling the press. Who knows what's happening behind closed doors.

Game 3 for Thor. I hope he plays as well as he did earlier in the year.

Exactly. When have we known what Stan was looking to do before it happened? Who saw the Versteeg trade coming? He plays the cards close to the vest and it's worked out pretty well so far.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Thor re-sign with us before the end of the season.
