There's always some truth behind jokes. I've agreed with you in the past, that the Canucks need to seriously consider it, but I believe that both the team and Luongo have an "out clause" in the contract, I'm not sure how that works regarding the cap though or if it's even legal now. Either way, getting rid of Luongo and avoiding the cap penalty is a MUST for this organization.
I'm also on board with trading Edler for help up front. - Nucker101
It is for a trade only I think. I don't think they can just walk away |

Pretty sure you're joking, but all 3 would be in the best interest of this franchise. - DrChristianTroy
With the cap hit going to 71 mil next year, and if the Canucks compliance buy out Lu and buy out Booth regular ,then they should have somewhere in the area of 20 mil in space. Re-sign Santo and Tanev for 2.5 for 4 years this Xmas . |

Santo Claus is coming to town.
Tanev isn't worth 2.5, not yet anyway. |

He is a very steady Dman and young . Lock him up while he is undervalued. On years 2 3 and 4 that may be a bargain. Lock up the right side of COrrado and Tanev at a good rate then get a high price # 1/2 Dman |

Thought so. Even a trade would screw the team over with a cap penalty down the road though. |

Agreed. Two guys who I've changed my mind on are Tanev, who I thought was a #5 d-man at best before and Dale Weise who looks likes a decent 4th liner so far this year. |

With the cap going up to 71 million(and could go even higher in the future), those contracts should be easier for you to live with. |

Meh, each passing year it's going to become less significant. |

haven't watched a full game in a couple weeks. I guess I'm not the typical hockey fan as they are expecting revenues to rise... |

Ya but they've got some injuries and the 49'ers needed a last minute field goal to pull it off. |

They are ok as long as they keep scoring. I don't like having two contracts instead of one.

Agree. Last 3 years of contract Fla with give up a first rounder for. They only have to pay him one mil and get a 5.3 cap hit. That is a Panthers owners wet dream |

I could see him going to FLA before that if Markstrom doesn't pick up his game. Not sure what the return would be though. |
