What other choice do they have? Big chunk of cap space sitting in the press box. aren't the canucks close to the cap limit? You would have to waive him and hope for the best.

There's always some truth behind jokes. I've agreed with you in the past, that the Canucks need to seriously consider it, but I believe that both the team and Luongo have an "out clause" in the contract, I'm not sure how that works regarding the cap though or if it's even legal now. Either way, getting rid of Luongo and avoiding the cap penalty is a MUST for this organization.

I'm also on board with trading Edler for help up front.

Booth is okay as a depth player IMO, if we're stuck with him, you might as well let him play in some role. Playing with the Sedins or Richardson won't work though. He needs Santorelli or Schroeder as his center IMO. Kassian needs to play with the Twins IMO.

No doubt. But we would be rolling the dice with running Lack as our starter. I'd be willing to take the risk, but would also like to see a vet back-up brought in as cover.

Agreed. Kassian will never reach his potential if hes playing with a bunch of role players. He needs to be playing along side the Sedins or Santo and Kes. The only way this guy will ever succeed or reach his potential is playing with players that will benifit his style.

Richard is a great role player but he is not a good fit with Kass.
