in fairness he's a better player than Orr, but i wouldn't hold out hope for a lengthy suspension. i don't see him getting much more than Neal. Neal should have gotten 10 at least. that was just too dangerous and dirty a play.

Leafs need to build around Phaneuf and Fraser. those are the only 2 good Dman who can play.

No one can log the minutes/go up against the competition like Dion does. No one in the Leafs system, no one in free agency

i agree hes better than orr, but hes still a meat head, and orr has respect for the game and other players, even though hes our 'goon'. for example: soon as he saw Parros hurt, he quickly waved over your guys trainer, thats just the first example that comes to me cause its so recent.

as for neal, yeah, it was filthy, if he really put the knee into marchands head id have given him 10 games, but he kinda just skated and left his leg out to connect, still bad, but he could have really drilled him harder if he wanted to.

Thornton went out of his way to take Orpik out, Neal just kinda skated up ice and the opportunity was there, and it did happen quick.

i beat neal wouldnt have got much if that wasnt his 3rd suspension in 2 seasons.

nothing to be disappointed about really. this is who franson has always been... he bought in last year and did alright.. but was also a bottom pairing d-man who faced 3rd and 4th lines.

now that he has been bumped up to second pairing (for the most part) he faces tougher offensive players.. and his inadequacies show.

he is a bottom pairing / PP specialist.. maybe a 2-2.5million guy.. he will want more tho.. so move him.

let another sucker pay that.

Been giving it a of thought, although Phaneuf is their best D now, I don't think I want to see him for the next 5 or more years, too lazy, lackadaisical in his own end, never hustles for the puck, not leader material, asking price is not worth what we get from him night in and night out.

Many would disagree with me and that is fine but what I have seen lately, I don't like the effort he gives and for 7mil (probably asking), that is not good enough.

Yep, everyone loves him for his shot. I actually have a pretty nice snap shot, I wonder if the Leafs would sign me for league minimum But yeah Doz, you were right all along, I remember you were one of the only ones saying this for a while last year.
