It sure as hell couldn't have hurt. Time outs have been called for less.
Might not have changed the outcome - and in this fickle fan base, if he had called the time out and they still lost, Carlyle would have been crucified for calling one.
The advantage of hindsight shows us the result of not calling a time out. |

when we were up 4-1, and they scored a goal, and it went to 4-2...i was screaming at the TV, CALL A TIMEOUT - must have said it 5 times. not that randy could hear me, but thats when you call it.
30 seconds to remind the boys that were in game 7 vs past cup champs and they are going to be bringing EVERYTHING they have for the next 10 mins, play hard, play smart, and make good line changes. Just try to calm them down, that cant hurt....instead, nothing and we lose.
so yeah, im still bitter about it. |
