There should be no discussion. He should get a game or two

I thought he skated off to make sure he wasn't on the ice for repercussions!

Also a possibility given his character.

I think so. You can't just start swinging on a guy.

Rinaldo got a pretty significant "in game" punishment for what he did.

I see Neal only got a 2 minute minor for what he did.

I wouldn't doubt Rinaldo's next incident will land him a phone call from his Irish uncle in New York.

Islanders bringing up Strome, putting Bouchard on waivers...to me, that means it's "Go Time" for them right now.

They only have a couple more cards to play, one of them being firing the coach.

poop like that just pisses me off...Half Assed Bob Barker wannabe spouts off about Emery, then doesn't make a peep when Thornton assaults Orpik and Neal knees a guy in the head while he's down & in vulnerable position.

Just spin the wheel you (frank)ing hack

I dunno - some fights start pretty friggin fast. Even this season I've seen Rosehill be surprised when someone launched themselves at him. He answered which is why it's a non-issue... But lots of guys jump in without warning.
My issue with Rinaldo is his flinging his gloves off like a friggin prima donna. Really? That was so premeditated I could have smacked him...

You coax a guy into 2, 5, and a game misconduct and come away clean, you didn't play him like a harp. More like the whole band.

I just wish it meant that he recieved a game off from his First Nation coach, rather than a heart to heart chat

What can't happen is that you can't manage a league based on the fear of the weaker markets not existing. At some point, the weaker markets have to do what it takes to become strong markets, as you correctly noted the Flyers did.

...

The correlation between poor markets and losing goes hand-in-hand. Atlanta probably would've worked...if they had made the playoffs more than once in 12 years.

It's tempting to view things in terms of immediate gain, or immediate sense... but sometimes, the most benefit is derived from exploring the frontiers and fringes, even though the margins carry the most risk of failure as well.

Here's an example... if Gretzky had been traded to New York, Toronto or Montreal, the league would have probably been immediately better off for it, having their brightest star playing in the biggest market possible. However, he went to LA, and it's pretty hard to argue that the real, long-term, lasting impact of that move hasn't been orders of magnitude greater.

Agreed. Zac's gotta sit and I'm one of those ones that thought the PK experiment was a good idea.

I still think it's a good idea, but that whole accountability thing seems to not apply to those taking dumbass penalties.

Kind of surprised that they haven't done that yet. Made the big trade, calling up top prospect...Capuano's next to go

I'd look into Bouchard... good possession player, useful on the PP, great skater, plays all three forward positions, makes plays, expiring contract.

His head hit the ice.
- Jsaquella

I've looked for that. He goes down but his head never strikes the ice that I can see. He sort of goes down on his lower back. Does his head hit the ice after the punch?

He obviously injured and I know you can get a concussion without the actual impact, I thought whiplash.

The one replay I saw his head does hit the ice, but it could well be a whiplash case.

Sometimes it more about placement than power too. Didnt see the fight but it doesn't take much to turn out the lights.

Small and timid, but with Vinny out 3-4 weeks, timing couldn't be better.

I'm still semi-pissed that they didn't pick up Jussi Jokinen last year on waivers with how bad they are at SO's.

And a whole lot more. What a horrible thing to do. And not a heat of the moment or heat of the play thing either. Purely cold-headed premeditation.
- bodiva88

Agreed! Based on his past history, I would have given him 10 and made it clear that the next time he pulls a stunt like this it will be 20.
