If he played on the top line, he would play 20 minutes a night and I can guarantee you he wont break 50 points.

I wanna know what the bothers you about Hagelin. He is a 20-40 players, he's paid like it. But at least he hustles. That's more than I can say for most of this roster. 3 hardest working forawrds are Kreider, Zuccs and Hagelin. That in itself is the problem.

I don't know if making trades with this year in mind and trading young assets is the greatest idea
- jimbro83

I agree to an extent. This year is a wash so there's no need to overpay for veteran help.

But, on the other hand, how many young assets does this organization truly have?

while i think cally would be in the top 3 if he was healthy (seriously, he's gotta be battling a bad injury because there's no other reason he's not hitting like he always does), we're giving way too much of a pass to the defense too.

hank was spectacular last night and let up 4 goals because the defense gave up a ton of high quality chances. outside of mcdonagh, they blow.

Clearly not putting up points. But he's not floating out there either. He's not pulling a Pouliot or Pyatt, the whole team needs to get better Hagelin included. But he's not #1 on my poop list, he's not even in my top 5.

Callahan is a different player. I guarantee you after his shoulder surgery, he thought to himself, I'm not gonna last another 7-8 years in this league at the pace I'm injuring myself at. Broken foot, torn labrum, etc... I bet you he's terrified at messing up his shoulder again and thats why he's not throwing the big shoulder checks like he used to.

Hank was on an island, as he has often been, during his tenure in NY.

Staal is good, but before his injury, he was having a so-so season. Most of you know how I feel about Girardi, Stralman has been steady but not spectacular, Moore, Del Zotto and Falk have all performed meagerly.

The defense is overrated by the fan base, hardcore.

Like I said, that suggestion is strictly from the point of view of those who think we should change the culture of the team. I have nothing against him, I like him. Glencross will put up same amount of points, but is a different type of player and hes grizzled.

All the names in bold make me want to vomit. Especially the P's and Moore. That's 3.5 million in wasted cap space.

- tomburton99

I mean, they are your bottom 5 roster positions including a scratched position. Brassard is the big question. I fully expect Brassard to have a point per game stretch this year. He will find his groove again and probably finish the year around 50pts. Then we can either let him walk or resign him to 2.5M.

not sure that's why because he was throwing those big shoulder checks when he came back and after his thumb injury too. it's the past 5ish games that he's stopped.

overrated or underperforming? i hope it's the latter.

but yes it's tough for the forwards to score enough to win when we're down 3-0 going into the third. has to be demoralizing to give up the 1st goal knowing you don't score a lot and then a 2nd and a 3rd before being able to put up 1 on the board. you give up the 1st goal, and it all snowballs negatively.

How about going up 2-0, then giving up 3 straight goals to lose the game, how do you explain that mentality?

Where Cally used to throw 4-5 Big checks every game, he now might have 2. He's still playing physical, he just not doing it all over the ice with no regard for his own health. I haven't checked but whats his hits per game average right now? Can't be anywhere near his normal average.

the exact same thing that puts us in a 3-0 hole: bad defense. this team can't play a consistent 60 minute game night to night. they figure out how to play the defensive system well consistently and bring the same effort every night that they brought during out 3 game win streak earlier on and we win.

This is true, considering his qualifying offer has to be at least 4 million. And he's not a 4 million dollar player.

LMAO? So the guy scores at a ppg last year, this year he's struggling and you laugh your ass off because I think he'll have stretch where he'll do it again? I LMAO at you for you ability to flip flop your emotions so quickly. Man, if some of you were GM's you would be making trades every other week.

That's a collapse and a mentally weakness. Game just snow balled fro that point. They don't have that type of player personnel to right the ship when that happens. I will also say that was one thing Torts was good for. When he saw this team was playing like this, he would be on them like stink on poop.

brassard is streaky. he'll go on a PPG tear for a month, but then probably not do much else for 1.5-2 months. that's just the player he is historically.

you can argue he's never been given a fair shake in terms of 2 quality wingers like kreider and nash for a long stretch of time, but who knows if he'd produce at a PPG pace consistently if he's on a line with them 2 for a month? it's a big question mark that won't be answered unless richards and stepan both get injured.

Rangers can't take the the risk they just can't even with a 70 million dollar cap. I will say it's kinda funny that we all loved this kid before Arniel got here. Makes me think about RangerDanger's story about the viewpoint told from Commordore.

Part of that is own fault, especially this year. He has made so many dumb decisions with the puck.

he's made some costly mistakes, but i can really only think of 3 or 4 really bad turnovers. i don't think his decision making has been that bad that he causes an oddman rush and goal every game.

yea like i said back then, no way commodore comes up with such an outrageous story for no reason. there's gotta be some truth to it.
