hagelin is twice the player grabner is. you do realize that grabner gets about 2 breakaways a game and literally misses 97% of them? grabner has ZERO scoring touch, stone hands, and can't do anything other than skate in a straight line. at least hagelin hounds the puck, creates turnovers, sorta creates offensively, and can turn while skating at 100 MPH.

grabner is (frank)ing trash and might have the worst hands in the nhl. (frank) his 34 goal season. cheechoo scored 50 once. he's terrible. one of the worst NHL players in the entire league.
- rangerdanger94

listen, i'm not running an ad campaign to sell grabner Jerseys here, but he scored 34, 20, and 16 in the shortened season

but don't say he is trash when he was on pace to put up three 20+ goal seasons and that hagelin is twice the player when he has yet to score one

just trying to be objective here regardless of what team they play for

Grabner is having a terrible season but hes not trash and Hagelin is certainly not twice the player of him.

No you're right, us die hards are retarded. How we continue to watch this team, year after year, speaks volumes of our collective lack of common sense.

Honestly, how is there any sense in aligning yourself heart and
Soul with a group of athletes who happen to play for the city
In which you live? It's just being a sports fan - no sense to it
Whatsoever.

agree to disagree respectfully please. Grabner is having a horrible year and did last year, and while I am a huge Hagelin fan, there is no question he is offensively challenged, but makes up for him by using his speed to forecheck. Grabner has had a few good scoring years in the past, but right now, I prefer Hags over him by a wide margin, though not sure he is twice the player.

I know many people want to blow this up but we need to at least START with a single trade to shake this up. Trade DZ or Brassard for SOMETHING just a new piece and see if it mixes things up and is a spark to start the fire.

Grabner had 16 goals last year which was pace for a 30 goal season. How was that a horrible year?

you're a ducks fan at heart and you know it bandwagon scum!!!

grabner is so terrible that even cappy, the most inept coach in nhl history, can see the lack of talent that roadrunner trapped in a human body's shell possesses and staples him to the 3rd line for life.

more weak goals allowed by hank, who seems to be unable to prevent 4th liners and scrubs from scoring on him on a nightly basis. no offense from anyone on this team. a coach who does nothing to motivate this group or get them fired up in any way for a professional hockey game. Torts was not the problem, this roster is the problem and we are stuck with it for a while now. Sad sad times are ahead for this franchise. only franchise I know that can be within 2 wins of the cup finals and not even 2 seasons later look like a bottom feeder in the conference. something needs to be done soon.

as for james neal and the fact that he got away with that knee to marchand's head, another disgrace by shannahan. he and the nhl department of player safety are a total embarrassment to the game of hockey. they do not protect the players one bit. they protect the stars of the league on the teams that draw the most. I agree with jan that he should have gotten double digits in games suspended seeing as how he is a repeat offender. His suspension in playoffs 2 yrs ago vs. philly was a joke as well. Way to go shanny!

this team is screaming for a trade, this mix is so blaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I don't care if Lundqvist gives up soft goals if the team can't score anyway. The guy hasn't played behind a team that can score goals and that isn't his fault. 69 goals scored in 31 games.

Everybody keeps talking about bringing up players from Hartford.

Hartford is terrible too. They lost all 3 games this weekend, have lost 5 straight and can't score goals either. 2-11-2 in last 14 games

I know that will be the sentiment of a lot of people, but realistically, unless they are obviously out of range of the top 3 spots in the Metro division at trade deadline time, that's not going to happen.

Maybe the Staal injury will be enough to send this team off a cliff, but I think they'll be sufficiently mediocre when they'll look at add for the usual 1-2 round playoff run and not completely blow it up

i actually hope they drop off a cliff, would be ideal to suck these two years with mcdavid and ekblad available, that is what we need some young elite talent, we got the rest of a contending team, just missing that young gamechanger

They don't have to make drastic changes, yet; I agree. The Metro division is so terrible, there's no need to panic. Though, I'd like to see the Rangers start seperating themselves from the rest along with the Pens. Sadly, they simply cannot at this time.

Last night they looked like a tired team; though, the Caps played the night before, too. If Staal is out for a while, then I say bring up McIlrath and sit Falk or Moore. Both showed that they have a lot to learn and didn't look good together. This is where the Rangers could have used Steve Eminger.

thats why is say they need a rebuild, this team is so bad right now that they can not even win games agains real bad teams, what are they going to do come playoff time when they meet teams from the NE division.
look we all want them to win the cup but maybe taking a step back( rebuilding) will in the end be taking 10 steps forward and then we could be a real contender, no shame af rebuilding everybody needs to do it sometimes, even seems like the knicks will have to

The team has talent. They have a solid core group of players. But, not too many players are actually playing well right now, and the team seems to be playing uninspired and listless. Who knows? That may be because they aren't good enough. Or, it may be because they need some addition to start stirring the pot a little. The team kind of reminds me of the team the second year after the first lockout that played bored, uninspired hockey during the early half of the year (despite good talent), and then added Avery and then there season turned around. Is an acquisition like that the answer? I don't know, but I think they have to try it. Add some attitude to that lockerroom.

The one thing that I am sure about is that they aren't going to be bad enough to draft in the Top 3 picks in the draft. It's just not going to happen, nor will Sather just blow it up to force that to happen.

When the best forward on the team is 5'8" and making 1 mil. you have big problems.
