This is just hysterical because of how badly everyone wanted Dubi ran out of town a few years back. Now were ready to give our best forward prospect and a 1st up for him
- WayneY

I don't want him back, why? He fits right in with the losing culture here

miller is our best forward prospect....that's where the issue is

dubi is exactly what this team needs. he's gritty, can play hockey, fights and defends his teammates, and he can actually put up more points than what he did that 1 aberration of a season that caused us to trade him.

dubi's contract ran him out of town, not the guy himself.

Maybe we can get Burmistov's rights too, unless Stepan puts on some muscle he'll never be more than a 2nd line Center playing on the 1st line, his weak play and weak shot are getting old, he looks more and more like Dubi 2.0
- cranford93

He looks better than Brassard and Richards. That's not saying much, but If you wanna go forward with those two as the 1st and 2nd line centers, this team is screwed for the length of time those two occupy those two slots.

You know just as well as anyone else they'll never let that happen and we'll at worst just repeat 97-04 all over again, always picking in between 10 to 15, Sather having a job for life is going to kill us so I for one hope that old FUK has a heart attack and dies very soon.
- cranford93

A true rebuild, not what took place from 1997-2004.

I know it will never happen but this team needs to be dismantled.

He's not coming back. Neither is Prust. I'm certainly not trading Stepan, DZ and 1st for them.

Who plays center. The only line going is Stepan, Nash and Kreider. That's the only line that can generate consistent offensive pressure. I can't believe we as a fan base would be comfortable with Brassard, and aging Richards as the only two "NHL" centers. That definitely screams quality to me.
- tomburton99

like i said, i have issues trading stepan because he's our only good center. but it's a lot harder to get a player like kane than stepan in my opinion. everybody's pissed that we didn't pick the best player available in fowler and went with filling a need in mcilrath but isn't that the same thing with not being willing to give up stepan for a player that's on a waaaay higher tier than him just because it thins us on center?

idk if you're underestimating evander kane or not but i'd be willing to give up my testicles for him.

Understood, but I wouldnt give up Miller and a 1st to get him. Also a UFA after next season, and unsure if he would want to sign another contract with NY after what happened last time

I'll pass on Dubinsky, thank you.

Rangers need six new forwards and three new defensemen.

One player is not turning this around.

Yeah, I think its time to move on and realize we are never getting these guys back. Gotta stop living in the past with them.

i wasn't being literal with my trade proposals. i was trying to demonstrate the type of players we need.

once kane DOES become a great power forward, you wouldn't be able to trade mcdonagh for him. that's the way it works. you want to get a potential 40 goal scoring elite power forward? then get him while he's young and actually attainable.

i trade stepan for kane in a heartbeat in terms of players. kane is so much more dynamic and his ceiling is a lot higher. he's simply the better player in almost every facet. the issue i have with trading stepan, like you said, is that he's our only good center really.

- rangerdanger94

pretty much my point, get him now while he's attainable. he was a 30 goal scorer at what, 20?

yea, you have to give to get, but the potential for Kane is much higher than Stepan, and if you could swing that swap, i think you need to.

yea, the center issue is a problem, but if you put e.kane and Rick nash on a line together, it won't matter who is at center

it's like people here saying they wouldn't trade hagelin for yakupov or something because he's not a perennial 40 goal scorer yet. give me a break. once he does, he's unattainable.

who would've been comfortable trading stepan + staal + 1st for seguin this offseason before he blew up as a legitimate first line dynamic center superstar? who would do this trade now?

I wouldn't mind seeing Hagelin go for less than Yakupov.

He is nothing more than a speedster who can't do much else but hustle and negate icings.

Hagelin always struck me as a poor mans Grabner without as good a scoring touch

It's definitely time for McIlrath. Besides the lack of goal scoring, I am sick and tired, of seeing this team not stand up for one another and get physically pushed around by almost every team in the league.

hagelin is twice the player grabner is. you do realize that grabner gets about 2 breakaways a game and literally misses 97% of them? grabner has ZERO scoring touch, stone hands, and can't do anything other than skate in a straight line. at least hagelin hounds the puck, creates turnovers, sorta creates offensively, and can turn while skating at 100 MPH.

no 30+ goal scorer in the nhl has zero scoring touch or stone hands

does he have all star hands? no, but I've seen him make some good moves to show why he scored 34 one year and 20 the next

Tear this team apart trade everyone except Nash, Kreider,Hagelin and Mcdonagh, great start to the home stand, we've been embarrassed before but this is the absolute worst, it's gone on for far too long
- cranford93

Hagelin? Is he your cousin or something?

grabner is (frank)ing trash and might have the worst hands in the nhl. (frank) his 34 goal season. cheechoo scored 50 once. he's terrible. one of the worst NHL players in the entire league.
