Seravalli just tweeted that they will have an update on Lecavalier tonight. Frank's guessing herniated disk.

Hoepfully he's as right as he was about Stamkos

Holmgren will discuss Vinny with media in about 15 minutes, per Adam Kimmelman of NHL.com'

Can't get much more south than that. East too. We should get a mix by around 9 then rain 11-12. If they are right.

Yep.

Should we begin the "How are we gonna feel when the Flyers sign Steve Mason to a 4 year, $20mm contract on January 3rd" conversation?

- Jsaquella

Thats a bit more then I'd like to see them spend, but 17-18 million over 4 years I could live with.

I'd package the Schenns in a heartbeat -- not because I'm down on them, but because that package should get us a good enough piece for what we need, and obviously, we can't keep everybody and still get exactly what we need to address our weaknesses.

I'd hold onto Luke. He is still only 24 and Dmen usually don't hit their prime until 28 Not to mention Mez and Timonen will be gone after this year. Brayden however is expendable. At C we got Coots, G and Vinny already with Laughton to soon make the team. I'd like to see Philly part with Hartnell as well. Like the guy but I think he is done. Giroux needs top line players and there isn't anybody on this team that can fill that void. I'd say get rid of Streit too but Homer gave him a NTC....

Even if he hits his prime, he'll be a second pair, physical, defensive defenseman. Those guys are usually fairly easy to get.

As for trading Brayden Schenn, I'm thinking in about 8 minutes Holmgren's going to tell us that Vinny will be out for awhile

Per #Flyers GM Paul Holmgren, Vinny Lecavalier has a nondisplaced fracture in his lower back.

Homer says probably 3-4 additional weeks out for Lecavalier.

Flyers not sure who will be called up yet. Homer will decide later tonight.

If it was herniated, and didn't need surgery, the recovery time might be similar

I'd like to see Cousins get a shot, kid has some skill and I think he'd fit in nicely with Schenn and Simmonds. I'd bring up McGinn as well and put him on the 4th line with Hall and Raffl.

Late in the game when protecting a lead, Raffl can always move up to the 2nd line. I really think its time to get Rinaldo and Rosehill out of the lineup. Heck if they need someone too fight once in a while let L Schenn and Simmonds handle it.

Promote 3rd line to 2nd line. Move BSchenn to Center and call up McGinn to play wing.

And might as well take Rinaldo out back and give Cousins a taste of the big leagues.

Even tho I disliked the signing I still thought they'd get 2-3 years out of him... They prolly won't get that now. Oh well pronger can start grooming him for captaincy of the ltir squad.
