Clarkson >>>>>>>>burrows

But regardless, that's one player. Sedin, sedin, burrows, luongo, edler, garrison, bieksa. What's the average age there? How much is tied up in sedins, burrows, luongo?

To be fair; Clarkson's term is pretty gash though

Clarkson is a good player, but I have always felt he was overrated and his contract is just awful

Quickly I just wanted to say that this was a weird article because the only "young" Dman that MTL has is Subban with Emelin being 27 being the next youngest.

Unless Ek was counting Tinordi as an NHL dman. Still very weird.

Agreed. And yes Prock, I wasn't too ecstatic about the new Burrows deal either.

I dont think anyone was, but he was a bargain for four years prior. He deserves the money. He's had an unlucky year with injuries. No chance I would trade Burrows for Clarkson, no chance.

Really?

That contract could seem like a bargain in 7 years.

Burrows is only locked up for 4... ... ...

Same here, not with those extra years for a guy who plays Clarkson's style.

Diaz!! And a 2nd!!! Im sure the avs jump at the opportunity to deal one the best young, two way forwards in the game! who also happens to be integral to their early success.

If u think this is good value, Ur clearly in bed as soon as the east coast game is over....or need to take off the bleu, blanc et rouge blinders

- hugefemale dog77

'integral' LOL be careful you don'y use too big of words that you don't even understand

It's a known fact that ROR doesn't want to play in Colorado, does that mean that Diaz and a 2nd would get it done? no, but it's leverage other teams have on the Avalanche management

It's known huh

Yeah I would just hate to play with Duchene, Gabe and Mackinnon every night. Ohh gosh and it must really stink to have the best goaltender of all time be you coach. Don't even get me started on how much he must hate playing in an offensively open system for a 20-7 team instead of a trap team like Nashville or a bottom feeder like the Flames. Its a good thing the Avs still have the same MGMT they had during his last contract dispute that still clings to the salary cap floor instead of giving its core players long extensions. Ohh wait .............

But really though, this is an AMAZING young player that will win multiple cups over his life with the dynamic style he plays. Roy, Sakic and Sherman will sit down and give him a very fair contract offer and give him a chance to sign. If he accepts the deal then he will most likely be an Av for a very long time. If he looks Roy and Sakic in the face and says that he is worth more then they think he is then he will be traded.

Honestly its a win/win but also a lose lose. He is an AMAZING player and one of my favorites in the league. It would be incredibly difficult to replace what he brings to the avs(I can't stress enough what a big part of the club he is), and he the type of player you would kill to have in the playoffs. However the Avs still have some holes to fill and are set down the middle. I also think Stastny is staying long term.

So I don't know what "the word" is in MTL but that is realistically what is going on here in Denver.

With all the cap size Colorado have, they obviously going to resign O'Reilly at the end of the year. They absolutely need that king of gritty top 6 forward specially playing in the West. Not happening

Yeah but the team isn't finished as it is now. There will still be changes.

You are right. But you guys need to be patient. Patience is the key to build a cup contender team.

I agree, however this years Defense has greatly over achieved and a few of our guys only have a few years left in the tank, so it will need to be addressed. We are also very deep at center, so while I think keeping RoR on this team until the day he retires would be nothing but an excellent choice and a wise decision, if we were to get equal value's worth (key words here) of Blueline help in a trade then I could also understand it. Although I think RoR is one of THE biggest assets in the league right now that other teams could be looking at. Young dynamic and strong 2 way center depth is worth 10 times its weight in gold in this league.
