OReilly is good but he will never put something like 70 points in a 82 g seasons right ? hes more like an excellent 2 way forward

so you give 2 dman that can play on PP for the future + a 2nd pick ? Subban get draft in 2nd round so you can get very good player

Not necessarily.

Matt Stajan has actually become a pretty well-liked player here. Doesn't come close to making up for the trade of course but I find it a bit funny.

I don't think many really disliked Stajan. Most realized it wasn't that he was a bad player. He was just pushed into a spot above his capabilities. He's not a good first line forward, but he played a fair bit on the first line with Sundin. It's not his fault the Leafs didn't have anyone better, and that belonged on the first line. If they had some top wingers for Sundin, I doubt many would have complained about some of the other players.

Thinking there's some considerable east coast bias in this thread.
