I think MTL targeting RoR has Dudley all over it. His size and dynamic play would be just what Mtl needs and would make them deadly in the playoffs. That being said, I HOPE we don't move him. He is so huge to this team and is a Backes type of player and is still young as hell.
I would really hope tinordi would be a part of the deal but In general I hope it doesn't happen at all.
Also how could MTL even afford RoRs cap hit |

That far? I really don't think value is far off. - Frank0721
Diaz isnt gonna get much on the trade front if anything at all. Your talking about a guy who may not even get a contract offer at seasons end. The 2nd round pick is insulting unless there is a higher value player going. Beaulieu is a player thats falling how a bit in Mont. There isnt a high enough quality prospect going back to warrant a 2nd round pick. Plus the Av's are gonna prolly want roster players. Not prospects. Theyre playing to win. |

I think you are under evaluating O'reilly. He is good, very good. Diaz and 2nd is far from his value. Diaz and Beaulieu and 2nd is still a little off depending on how Roy and Sakic feels about Beaulieu ( pretty sure Roy loves Beaulieu, but could be wrong).
I can see why habs are going for him. But i'm still not sure why they would give Emelin in that trade since it doesnt fill a big void in the team and Emelin's departure would leave a big one.
Like I said, we have a couple of 2 way fwd that can do the job, so giving Emelin for another doesn't make sense. - Frank0721
The love for a prospect is fine. But Roy and Co arent gonna give ROR away. |

I think they got some money coming off the books no?
Scratch this. Theyre gonna need that money and then some to keep what htey got. Maybe buyout Brier to. |

I was talking about the trade with Emelin instead of Diaz... I know Diaz is far from getting RoR out of Colorado.
Diaz will find a job elsewhere if he doesnt resign with Habs, a lot far worst player out there, but thats another story. |

I think Emelin at 4.1 mil is a bit much. Plus I dont think the Habs are in the market for moving him. |

He's one of the top young two way forwards in the east. You don't get him for scraps like that. |

I agree with you on that one. I was trying to figure who could be the "young Dman".
Also, salary wise, I don't think 4.1Mil is a prob for colorado with all the cap space they have |

Yes because Thibault Kovalenko and Rucinksy were worth their weight in gold.

yeah, the Habs ditching Patrick Roy is the perfect trade to reference right now. If you have to defend a trade by saying "yeah, we got completely robbed years ago, so it makes perfect sense", maybe you should rethink your stance.
Makes perfect sense.
Did you know the Leafs once traded Tuuka Rask for Andrew Raycroft? Based on that, I actually think Drew Mcintyre for Carey Price is a perfectly logical trade. |

You made my point as well, different teams value players differently.
At the time maybe Raycroft was quite the commodity, for the same reason team draft certain players, they see them a certain way, so who knows how Roy and co see the Habs players. They might see HUGE potential in a player we might consider a throw-in.
You never know. |

No way. Tinordi is a lock in the organisation for MB plus I don't think Beaulieu will be on the move since it's the only puck moving defenseman we can rely on if there is injuries. Diaz + Dietz/Pateryn + 2nd for a soon to be UFA or 6.5M qualifying offer isn't bad but I think the Av's can get a better deal from a team like CGY (Brodie+ Baertschi?) |

When you start saying "you never know" and "a player we might consider a throw-in", I think you realize that at it's face, that was a lop-sided proposal.
After all, using the same logic in the other direction, one could just as easily say that the Habs see huge value in RoR, and so, you never know, maybe RoR for Subban, Beaulieu, and a first round pick is a reasonable trade.
