Ok, so checking out the 5 on 5 stats, Gardiner is second on the team (behind Phaneuf) for GA/20, SA/20 and Goalie SV% (ie the other team has fewer shots when he's on ice, and the shots they get are of lower quality). He has a GF% of 0.583, so the Leafs score more with him on the ice than they concede.

One thing that I do notice is that Phaneuf leads the Leafs in pretty much every defensive category.

up they gave up a guy who had 9 points in 11 games, a 1st and 2nd for a guy who has come in and put up 9 points in 14 games.

Its funny, I really don't hate Bozak. Quite the opposite. I do not however like his contract. If we had Bozak signed at $2.5-3m to play the role of 3rd line centre, I'd be extremely happy with that.
