IF the Leaf gave the initial hit, I wouldn't expect them to have to fight. See Sbban, PK for an example of a big hitter who rarely drops the gloves.

If it was a Leaf fourth line goon slew-footing and sucker punching, I'd happily drive the guy to the airport.

You don't have to fight in hockey. Technically you aren't even allowed. So If Orpik lays a clean hit on Eriksson, he's not obligated to have to fight. The whole mindset that you have to fight is wrong. Don Cherrites are not the smartest breed.

it's a clean hit to me... but guys like fraser, franson, orpik, mcquaid, boychuck when they throw that hit on a STAR.... they should have to stand up to whoever comes calling....
that is what my opinion is. and in my opinion, if they do, then the cheap shots by thornton at the end dont happen. also you dont have stars like eriksson, crosby ovechkin, kessel missing 20-30 games because of them

From the looks of it, The B's are always out for Blood. The Leafs need to play like they did in the playoffs against them and they'll be just fine. and what I mean like the playoffs I mean like in the games they actually won and not game 7.

I have no problem with fighting policing the game.

You want the best product possible? Protect your stars. I personally want to see the talent play long and prosperous careers (Gretzky, Yzerman, Sakic, etc).
