I remember I had a coach once where if you skated by a hit like that or laid back then you rode the pine. And it didn't matter who you were. Yep, he was the best coach I ever had as well.
- iTOLDu

orpik timed the hit at the same time as the boston player was going to touch the puck. He heard Orpik coming and let the puck go by him

I love how they pretend that glove side isn't the way to score on every goalie in the league.

basically not reading what i said and then saying "i condone what thornton did" is any better?
- Rockhead_37

You re are saying it's alright to go Nd try and fight someone because they hit a sStar player. Also nowhere did I insult you personally so yes it is different

I read what you said and everyone seems to agree with our thinking that you are defending it. You think people shouldn't be allowed to hit stars cause they might get hurt. Why should a player need to defend themselves for clean hits. You are familiar with the rules of hockey and hitting is illegal. Guys might as well start fighting after goals cause it wasn't a Star who scored.
- Yeti1181

my perpspective the hit was not clean... i think the instigator rule is BS... so if we assume the hit was not clean... i believe orpik should have to answer to thornton for what he did... same with neal for what he did to marchand... if there is a fight where at least he can defend himself then the situation is difused and over... what thornton did was BS as well... im just saying if there was no instigator rule or if orpik stepped up for what i believe was a dirty hit (not so much the hit but the fact i think he didnt have the puck) then the stupid stuff doesnt happen

Now we get the 5 game test of the year. We need to grab at least 3 points, to get us to Christmas and stay in the playoffs. I see the Wings lost another one tonight.

Yup. Solid 17+ minutes. No mistakes, made smart plays. If he can keep it up and play smart, simple hockey then he's gonna stick...

He perfectly timed the hit in my opinion he was in the processing of receiving the pass. That'swhy I think it was clean.

Idk if he let it or not. Either way it was a great hit and if you wanna play in the NHL you need to expect that hit coming.

yeah no...... see if you were playing along at home... and not searching for fame. you would have seen where the whole "argument" went.

i responded to a comment fruitcake said... likely in response to something that i said....
the end result was me saying, "okay.... just checking to see where you stand. duly noted."
but no, you trying to be a hero said that i condoned what thornton did.... see if i condoned what thornton did, i would be the retard... but i didnt... and i made that VERY clear.... so where does that leave it.
you as a ref, always telling people how to behave and act and respond, are guilty of what you patrol for.
