If they are still employed is because their fans think they are good And that hurts
- Orpik44

I remember last year edwards compared Matt Cooke to an assassin, don't remember which particular one, and people thought he would be fired.

That makes sense. From the only angle I saw I thought it looked like the linesman might have nailed him, didn't really get a clear view of Orpik. Why is no one replaying it

I ever want to hear any complaining about Cooke's hit on Savard again after tonight. What a disgrace.
- Emperor Filonius

Uh, you do understand that regardless of what Thornton did, Cooke's hit was disgusting and ended the career of a star in this league.

Steigy is bad, but edwards is a different level. Not that it matters really. I could care less what either dope says. I do know Steigy wouldn't try to justify that assault.
- madmike71

Stiegy and Erry say stupid things all the time. They don't go the levels of the bruins broadcast team. Every teams home broadcasters are biased, but for the love of GOD! these guys are f-in ridiculous

I don't think Orpik hit his head on the ice when he fell. I think the first time his head touched the ice was on the second punch. Looked like he punched him right in the temple.

Gutless play by Thornton. He mugged a guy and should get 15 games.

Dirty, cheap play by Neal. Definitely was not an accident. He should get 5+ games.

Two words.... mute button.

That's what I would have done.

- madmike71

This as far as Jack Edwards its the only way to watch a Bruins game when its there Telecast. Although most teams announcers are biased for the home team. I think Nashvilles announcers are pretty good and same with Dallas announcers. The worst though are the Bruins announcers by far.

As far as what happened Thornton deserves at least 20 games. Neal deserves more than 4 games for the knee although I looked at the boxscore did they really call that holding the stick? Because that's what they had in the boxscore on NHL.com.

Anyways he deserves more than 4 because Kadri was suspended for 3 for running into backstrom and its obvious Neal had the intent to try to injure a defenseless player. Also was it true that Thornton came off the bench? If that's he case then he deserves 30 games. 20 for his actions and 10 for leaving the bench.

If Neal did something dirty to a Bruin player, I can't work up a lot of sympathy.

This is the kind of sh1t that is going to happen to the Bruins if they play the way they do and especially if the league refuses to even review half their bullsh1t.

All this crap is on the NHL, period.

They should get the same number of games, unless discipline is based solely upon result. Especially considering Neal actually has a history and Thornton has none.

That said, I really hope Orpik is ok.

Couple of thoughts guys.

Letang was great today, great couldnt complain at all. Loads of mins, great in all three zones. Im hoping he has really turned the corner. Hey credit where credit is due, it was good stuff today.

After the game against the sharks I thought MAF was fighting the puck, today against the Bruins, well, he got beat on a screened shot, and well Chara is Chara, however if the Penguins are going to go anywhere in the playoffs he needs to make that first save. Or have Sid ice the game about 1 min earlier.

You can see why Raask is the best in the game at the moment, gave his team a chance to win it.

As for the Thornton incident, I am going to hold my judgement on the whole thing until the NHL decide what to do with it.

The Neal knee though, I will comment on now: http://hockeyhurts.com/co...al-should-go-for-accident

Have a read, let me know if you think Im crazy, but he has a past.

How is violently assaulting someone with your fists multiple times the same as skating into someone on the ground.

Also is Lucic up for a suspension? Notice he got a 5 minute major for boarding how bad was that?

IMO these games are a direct result of the leagues inability to appropriately punish Boston for anything and players getting fed up with the poop.

Noone loathes James Neal more than flyers fans, as evidence by anytime he is involved any incident and the comments from fly fans that follow. That said I do think the NHL determines suspension too heavily on outcome as opposed to intent. suckS when one of your guys goes down and you want what you consider justice though its sometimes viewed through black or white and your teams colored glasses

Let me help you...

The Flyers fans hate Neal because he elbowed one of their players a couple of years ago. They of course completely ignore the entire history of their organization and the fact that they've employed an enormous amount of dirty vagina's.

I like Orpik and would never wish what happened to him on any player.

Neal's deliberate knee to the head was as dirty as it comes and just as dangerous, if not more so, than what Thornton did, and it directly lead to the scrum.

It is what it is.

You cant hold only Boston to account, it is the league not punishing anyone fully. The standard for this season is set. Next year the better get their finger out of their ass and fix this.

Yep he is a repeat offender, and the NHL just let it slide earlier. So this time it is still not going to sting when they give him what, 5 games max due to the precedence they set this season.

The NHL thinks it is the thuggery the fans want, its not, its physical play and skill we want to see. until they change their marketing thought process we are stuck with this.

Just as dirty and dangerous?

I completely disagree. It was dirty and dangerous but not even in the same ballpark.
