absolutely unbelievable.

we aren't just going to give them an underserved point, we are going to give them 2 and us none.

this team's gotta perform and execute better in the 3rd period in these kinds of games.

hope i dont get poop on but here goes

what thornton did was completely (frank)ing classless and he should get 15 games for that poop. Thats sick what he did. You dont do that in hockey

HOWEVER James Neal is just as big of a piece of poop for what he did. That was nearly as disgusting as what Thornton did. 1000% intent, he could've EASILY had avoided that play, and he CLEARLY stuck out his knee to Marchands head. Both plays make me wanna puke

As Dustin Leed said, James Neal is a cheap, dirtbag hockey player as far as I'm concerned. and i 100% agree. Talented for sure, great player, sure, but he's a dirtbag of a hockey player, and i hope he gets hit hard for the BS he pulled tonight.

Im gonna call it right here right now. 2 games for Neal and 5-7 for Thornton. Both should get Double digits but Shanny doesnt have the balls to make a big play

agree 100%. Neal just acts like a little girl at times.

in game 4 versus the flyers a couple of years ago he tried to take of couts and grioux's heads within a minute of each other.

marchand is a POS, but what neal did was equally as bad.

If those plays make you want to puke. You must have puked a whole lot in your life if you've been watching flyers scum all these years.

I don't think I'd call him a dirtbag but yes he is flat out stupid out there at times. I've said it many times before he does stupid stuff but I don't think it is near to the level of what Thorton did that was borderline assault.

So (frank)ing close to getting win. Then just hold on for a much deserved point. Now the disappointment of coming away with nothing. I do give them a lot of credit for the way they played. They were depleted and nearly beat a very good Bruins team on the road.

Rinaldo pulled a little poop act tonight too, he'll be gone for 7-10 games prob as well. totally jumped Roussel from behind and punched him when he was down as well.

i can agree with what Thornton did was borderline assault, hence 15-20 games. But the more poopbag of a play was definitely Neal. Theres absolutely no defending what either of these players did, but like geez... Neal just totally couldve avoided that and he went by Marchand and clearly with 100% intent kneed him right in the head...

like i said both plays were terrible and have no place in the game. Ryan is dead on with what he's saying. Neal should get 10, Thornton 15-20.

shouldn't be understated that losing a dman that early in the game is tough.

that maata played a good game, little edge to it. made a costly TO that led to a crossbar shot but overall was happy.

despres still continues to impress. love the work out of him. bad turnover and penalty but still played well.

niskanen played a very strong game. really liked his effort.

They don't lose that game if they had half their players back. No Scuds, Martin, Orpik, Malkin, Bennett....and they still carried the majority of the play.

Would be nice to see MAF make that save. Looks like he saw that. Not sure it changed directions.

Absolutely. I'm waiting for the post game comments. I wanna hear Julien.

After Thornton gets back from his ban he should expect to see Big Mac in the lineup next time..

There is nothing glancing or accidental about what Neal did.

Punish the act, not the result.

- Ryan_Wilson

I never said accidental and agree Neal deserves a suspension. But I can't agree with your logic on the act being the sole consideration. Because if you are punishing the act only, then Thorton doesn't deserve a double digit suspension. We see people get taken down all the time after the play and small punches thrown with gloves on. Most don't result in major injuries and usually don't get more than 2 - 5 minutes. This ended with Orpik seriously injured and deservers a different level of punishment.

I'm guessing....Julien: "He was only protecting himself and his teammates."

Guy is one of the biggest hypocrites in the NHL. He called this an act of defence:

Apparently Sami Salo is a headhunter. The guy has rarely ever thrown a big his in his entire career.

The act of jumping a guy from behind and punching him senselessly while on the ground speaks for itself. You don't need a stretcher on the ice to punish that severely.

If you want consistency in rulings you can't take injury into the equation.

so a fan of another team cant have a discussion with a guy who wants to respond because you guys lost?

i just made a statement, wanted to see who agreed and who disagreed. if i wanted to stir poop up i'd have poopted on Neal much more than i did and called what Thornton did fine

i think im being pretty reasonable here. James Neal is a sneaky dirty bumhole, thats a fact. Talented as hell but he's dirty when he wants to be.

So why do you need to run here and tell us. The Flyers have been loaded with dirty bumholes their entire existence. What's your point. Yes, Neal has a handful of dirty plays in his career. Now go away.
