And the classless NESN idiots REFUSE to show more than one replay of the assault.

Complete B.S. When do they EVER not show a replay of a match penalty?????

Neal was watching the puck. Not his fault Marchand doesn't know how to skate and can't stay upright. Maybe if the Boston players worked more on their skating skills than their goon skills...

He moved his knee right into his head. And he's a previous offender. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a few games.

I don't think you'll have any finding that on the nightly news or sportscenter. That was just ugly. Long suspension coming.

Yeah, the fact that Thornton pulled a Todd Bertuzzi/Chris Simon, doesn't make what Neal did ok. Punk move by Neal, and then a criminal move by Thornton.

But fighting and "enforcers" like Thornton help prevent cheap shots, isn't that what we're told? F-ing garage league...

Neal should have done what? Place himself in an unsafe skating position because some Bruin doesn't know how to skate? Don't think so.

We could just say that Neal is like Ovechkin, and skates with a wide-stance and a lot of passion.

Agreed. Thornton deserves at least 10 games though. Can't wait for Boston's post game report about their clean little angels just protecting themselves. Not a dirty player on the roster. Orpik was probably just faking. Hopefully we can get Dr. Mark Recchi's opinion on the injury.

Did he come off of bench? Could be real long.

Based on the fact that NESN refuses to show any replay at all and the reactions of those here who did get to see one, Thornton's actions must have been way over the line. I seriously wish we still had Carbomb and Tibbetts on the team right this moment.

Come on man. He clearly outstretched his knee to make contact with Marchand's head. That Thornton thing was unreal though.

Dont think so.
Neals looked pretty intentional IMO. He will get a couple games if thats what they determine.

Thorntons was uggggggggly.
Hopefully Brooks is OK.

Errey said Thorton was already on the ice. Neal did stick out his knee no doubt. Will be losing a couple of games. Thorton should get charges filed....disgraceful.

Even if he did...deal with it during the game. Blast Neal over the boards. Grab Neal and break his nose. Settle it like a man.

You don't go and grab a completely different player from behind, trip him, and punch him while he's down. That's something a football or basketball player would do. Shouldn't be something a hockey player does.

What a disgusting display by Thornton. Reminded me of Gillies on Tangradi a couple years ago. Absolute disgrace. Hope nothing too serious with Brooks.

Oooooooooh great Boston announcers, now everything is Orpik's fault for not fighting Thornton earlier. These guys are literally the biggest homers I have heard. Completely classless

So I missed parts of the 1st period, was Thornton pissed at Orpik for laying out Eriksson with a clean hit? Was that all it was that set that cementhead off?

Letang better watch out. Two Bruins fell down in his vicinity. They'll be coming after him next.

Thornton slew-footed him after the play and then punched him in the head twice while he was down. Was not moving and was taken off on a stretcher still not moving. Complete assault from behind like a coward. Just like Boston in general. Classless clowns

If he does not get 10+ games for that I don't know what does. Of course it is a Bruin so...

Took him off on a stretcher. Total assault. I saw his hand moving. Didn't see his legs moving. Take that for what it's worth. Pray...

Shawn Thornton -- not just a gutless move there, but a Zac-Rinaldo-gutless move. Enjoy your 20 game suspension.
